funny thing is, i had thought of the exact same idea last year but without poison Bugs nest / Bugs Dome (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,18588.msg252826#msg252826)
It didn't do well in the crucible presumably for the following reasons:
-cost was high
-perhaps too OP with Fractal Pest since it seems to be a bug type + Eclipse.
-perhaps too OP with Elite Queen summoning fire flies (Note air blitz was not in the game yet at this period).
and so you can guess why it did not make it.
The only difference with mine is that mine targeted the following groups of creatures:
Arachnoids (Of or pertaining to the Arachnid group)
Phase Spider, Flesh Spider, Parasite, Dune Scorpion, Forest Scorpion, Deathstalker
Insectoid (Of or pertaining to the Insect group)
Scarab, Devourer, Ash Eater, Dragonfly, Firefly Queen, Firefly.
Yours only targets the
Arachnoid group.Beware though, there have been recent cards that were disliked due to making Death stalker decks easier, I am not sure How this will affect the views on your card.
I must say though, in comparison to my idea, yours is way too cheap as mine may have been too expensive or cheap.
yours may be too cheap for the following reasons:
-since it contains a nightmare potential sync (like GotP)
-a Death stalker potential sync (Eclipse already is an existing card of such, adding another may cause others to become skeptical), not to mention a Death stalker + Eclipse + Nightmare + flying Arsenic consisted deck. People may be skeptical due to this heavy poison combo potential. In my experience, I advise you to increase the cost of the unnupped to 4-5 and/or either do one of the following:
- Leave it at 4 cost but maybe change to +1/+1
- increase unuped cost to 5 and upped to 4
- the option above this one but leave upped as 5 and add a boost to the poison potential on discarding arachnids. (GotP instantly does 13 damage on discarding, so in comparison to that, it is slightly weaker in a sense, perhaps justifying the cheap cost fo yours but there is still the death stalker to consider)Overall, Great Idea, I have no problem with its abilities but maybe it is a tad too cheap.
I hope I have helped you in anyway and goodluck with your card in the crucible, mine may have failed, but I hope yours succeeds, I always wanted a creepy-juicy bug potential deck
