NOTES:

Congratulations to  :water  Sea Spectre | Ocean Spectre (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21743.0.html)  :water for winning this Card Designer Challenge. By winning it has proved itself a high quality card that is also worthy of being a rare and would be a good addition to the game as well.
Made also for Card Designer Challenge - It All Floods Over (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,22850.0.html)

If the card is fire, it's damage is Fire.
Underwater means any part of the board affected by Flooding or similar cards (if they ever are released).

Made for Card Designer Challenge : Your Own Rare? (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21688.0.html)

Bio:
A rare type of Forest Spirit that has absorbed too much water and now lives underwater to sustain itself.  It's soaked itself in so much water that Fire and at deeper depths Poison have very little effect upon it.  They're very hard to find since they usually only live in the deepest of lakes.

 :water Rare  :water

Why do you think this card should be rare?
I believe this creature should be rare because:

1) With the development of Vanadium Wardens, I do not feel Artic Squid is really worth being a rare, and many other players also seem to support that Arctic Squid should not be rare.

2) As shown by the Bio, this  creature isn't easy to find.

Does the card's overall value fit as a rare?
Yes, it's a weak card when initially played but when played correctly it's immunity to Poison and Fire make it slightly stronger than it's Forest Counterpart.   This also makes a good counter to the Malignant Cell/Flooding Lockdown if you can get a few copies out.

How could I obtain this rare?
You can obtain this card in one of the two following ways:

1) If you manage to grow a Forest Spirit to 20 | 20 , Sea Spectre will be added to the spins.

2) Beat the FG Sieren and win Ocean Spectre from her.  Note that a few Sea Spectres will be thrown in as well in the spins so you may get either or none.
How does this card Buff Flooding?

Prior to the CDC : It All Floods Over, I decided to make a unique card that had interesting abilities but also buffed a relatively unused mechanic. I didn't see Flooding used a lot and I thought it would be interesting to make a card that was related to that and ETG, and this card was the result.  This card is also optimal by itself since it reduces damage even when not underwater. Mainly it's point is to encourage new strategies with Flooding for decks.

This is based on the 1.27 versions of the cards.

Strategy:

Sieren's goal is to get out the Deja Vu's as placeholders so she can flood the field and play her Ocean spirits. She uses Permafrost Shield and Arctic Octopus for CC incase dangerous creatures come out, and Ice Bolt is a soft PC in case weapons are used against her.  Alternatively, she can use Puffer Fishes to give a steady stream of poison to the player, which can be deadly if left alone.

Strengths:
Deadly if Ocean Spirits are not taken care of quickly.
Can lock down vaious creatures that would otherwise shut down her strategy like Otyugh and Fallen Elf.
Permafrost Shield prevents strong creatures from getting through easily.

Weaknesses:
If Deja Vu's are destroyed early on, she will not be able to use her deck to full potential.
Poison, because she has no purify.
If you can avoid it getting frozen, a Lobotomizer can destroy her strategy.

Possible Alternatives:
Have Sieren use Mitosis/Life Mark instead of Deja Vu/Time Mark.

If you want to play against Sieren without Ocean Spirits:

The table is wrong, the card says the unupped is 2 :water while the table says 1.
And well, unless utilized by fractal, it will be extremely hard to actually use it to its fullest.

using that concept, a fire creature that attacks your own gravity pulled creature will also reduce damage by one. That is interesting... MOAR SCENARIOS!!!

Some scenarios:
If a card that redirects spells to a creature (think Gravity Pull, but for spells instead), this could be used to stop RoF and Fire Bolts in combination with BB.
If Fractal is played on this, you have an autogrow army that requires no upkeep (provided you already have creatures on the field)
If you swarm the intial field using Mitosis, Pharoah, or Deja Vu, you can easily get your Spirits underwater.
If Napalm sees this she'll hit me with Sir Kong's desk. I'll let you guys come up with more. :)

Anyway, bump for additional feedback, and I've added Sieren's deck to the OP.  I am considering giving her Mitosis instead of Deja Vu, but I'll wait for feedback on that as well.

This card seems really cool but a lot is going on... It grows, it depends on flooding, it resists fire and even poison.

I like the idea but it is a tad complicated...

On another note, water would definitely hurt fire and fire water it seems like. If fire hits water it turns the water into steam and the fire goes out... I feel like the damage should be mutual and perhaps damage reduction would be mutual? For example fire shield burns this creature for 1 hp but the player also takes 1 damage? Just theoretical and frankly I don't want this card to get more complicated so I think it's fine.

Yes, it's true, but it can be simplified with some minor tweaks:
- Make the growth an Autocast Active ability.
- Give a name to the resistance to Fire and Fire/Poison. Something like underwater/deep/whatever. Make it passive. Problem solved.

BTW, I've noticed the Bio, but unfortunately, Abyss Walkers aren't rare :P
(I still like the idea and the rarity) ;)

I like that fact that this card has a story behind it by the way. Good story and it explains the rare label.

I wish other rares and maybe even cards had a little background on them available somewhere...

Though you say they live in lakes you specifically put them as Sea and Ocean creatures.... hmm.
