Card Designer Challenge : It All Floods Over
Right, so we know Flooding needs a buff (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21658.0.html). However, why buff directly when you can add cards that synchronize well with Flooding?Even our new master of Water, Ravingrabbid, has been scratching his head on how to buff Flooding. So, with the success of Sea Spirit (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21743.0.html) and Dark Kraken (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21004.0.html), it's now time for the card designers to get ideas out that can buff Flooding indirectly without touching the card at all!
Card Designers have 10 days to submit their card ideas. After that, I will put up a poll with all the suggested cards on this thread.
You may continue to create and submit ideas while the poll is up.There are three subsections for each rules section.
Rules : General Rules. The amount of cards you can submit and most general guidelines are here. Qualifications : These are the minimum requirements for the card to be able to be polled.Designer's Tips : While not part of the actual rules, these may be helpful to you as you design your card. Some of these tips can be
very useful.
You do not need images for ANY card idea challenge.
Rules:
-Design 1-3 cards that would work well with Flooding (remember that you'd don't neccessarily have to state the card(s) works with flooding, e.g. you can say the effect requires the creature to be underwater or triggers something every time quanta is absorbed)
-Explain why this card syncs well with Flooding, and make an example deck of how this would work.
Qualifications:
-No real qualifications except for being balanced, however:
I would like to add a bonus point to the flooding challenge:
See if you can achieve the following two extra challenges for the flooding buff competition.
Your card is optimal with or without flooding. [Fairly easy to accomplish. I would personally treat this as a minimum to enter but you may be brave enough to try without meeting this challenge.]
Flooding is optimal with or without your card. [If you accomplish this without creating an OP card or changing flooding then you have achieved a great challenge. I personally would choose a card that beat this over all others in an instant. This is the mark of a great card designer. I probably would not be up to the task.]
If you can achieve one of these standards as well, you have a chance of obtaining the CCC's Seal of Approval for the card.
Designer Tips:
-Who ever said the card had to mention Flooding? Think of other terms you can use like "when quanta is absorbed" or "when underwater"?
-The card doesn't necessarily have to be
. It can be Earth, Fire , Darkness, or anything you want.
-What kind of deck would this be good in? Is it able to sufficiently buff Flooding? Make an example deck to show how this card could be used!
-
Try to acheive one of the standards Oldtrees has set for this competition. The second one is more difficult, but if you can do it it shows that you have good design skills and have put a lot of effort in the card.
Good luck to all!
Special thanks to Emeraldtiger for starting the idea of challenge series with his Aether/Life-Life/Aether Series Challenge (

Poll is up! Remember card ideas can still be submitted!
