This really would work better as two cards ZBlader.
Either or...he modified the Manticore mechanic nicely enough to suit a dual-natured card, in my opinion (oh how I loathe people who say 'IMO' but I'm-a do it anyway). Whereas my two Mythos cards were tri-colored in nature, Zblader's Duality series focuses solely on two elements at a time. The mechanic suits the card.
This may be to the detriment of the rest of the series tho...
I feel like I should elaborate for those that were not in on the previous discussion at the start of this series between me and ZBlader
To sum it up a hybrid card has the mechanical benefit from being able to be paid with mono
, mono
or a combination of both. This means that the effect should be one that makes perfect sense as two mono cards in both elements. (It does alright on this criteria. Not great but on par with the majority of the series.)
However since all quality Hybrid cards are designed as two mono cards that are identical except for the quanta used, hybrid cards with modular abilities run into the Kael Card problem.
The Kael Card problem is a term that arose from the complicated cards that Kael Hate made right around when I joined the forum. These cards were more complicated than people were used to (although Ajit's Gem and Mages series are similarly complicated). This lead to the term Kael Card being used to describe cards that either were way too complicated or that could easily be broken into multiple separate cards.
Since Hybrid cards would fit in either element, elemental modular abilities (like the mark based skill) allow for easy separation into 2 cards that are equal or better in quality than the original hybrid card.
Two separate cards would also have the advantage of being much simpler and also be viewed more favorably
