Event Card Brainstorm

Ready for the upcoming war everyone? Well, we still need your help!

Event Cards were supposed to be implemented during the last war, but were canceled (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,14874.0.html) - if you feel that you have a few event ideas that you want to happen during War #3, please post them here for brainstorming!

Guidelines:
1. Post no more than 5 card ideas (no table/frame needed this time around) with royalty-free artwork. The mechanic of the card should be related to how the War event is run. Please provide a link to the artwork as well!

2. Post card ideas in this thread. This is not a 'card design' competition - actually, it's not really a competition -period-, so don't expect to receive any special and crazy bonuses or prizes. However, some ideas might be used for War #3 (see the following rule), and thus, you may be loved (or hated) during the next War for your event concept!

3. All council members will later vote for the top 24 Event Cards to be used in the upcoming War. Bearing in mind, if there are not enough fair Event Cards, the council and War Masters will conjure up the remaining amount instead, and approve of the highest-quality ones.

4. All Event Cards will be shown 1 week before the War battles begin (i.e. - sometime during the auction process). The order of when/if the Event Cards will be played will not be known to anyone.

This one can create nice suicide tactics, like winning the first game by surprise and then (hopefully) win the next game with some luck and the few upgraded cards.

Event cards are a good idea.  I like that potential event cards will be revealed beforehand this time around... there is no need for that much "surprise" factor for them to be fun.

I think the goal of all event cards should be to tweak war gameplay in a way that does not provide an advantage for any one team. 

A suggestion I'd like to make is:  Instead of having 24 event cards and randomly using one per round, only use event cards for the first 6 - 7 rounds of War.  These are the rounds where all teams are still active and still have access to a reasonably large vault and some variation in the round rules will be fun.  Later rounds are more down to the wire, desperate... serious business.  I fully agree with the sentiment of MrBlonde when he said winning due to a fortuitous event card would taint the victory.
