Don't have time to give screenshots or descriptions, but they were some epic games.  Really though, we only had such a good chance to win because gocubbies couldn't play with 6 upgraded cards (Minor Phoenixes).

Game 1:
I got a very good draw with 4 Poisons in my opening hand.  It helped to keep the game from going too long.  A last second Plague+Bone Wall combo helped me survive till the end.

Game 2:
After finding out he had Fractal Phoenixes in the first game, I knew I had to be very careful in how I timed my cards.  Unfortunately, I actually started with a slow offensive, only getting 1 Poison and 1 Arsenic in the first couple turns but then nothing until about 12 cards left.  He Deflag'd the Arsenic right away.  So I had 3 Poison on him until I was down to about 12 cards or so and then 5 poison until about 6 cards left.  Basically, I was holding on to dear life hoping he would deck-out before all my Bone Walls and Sundials ran out.  I won with 1 card left.  I wish I had recorded the game because it was pretty intense.

With a clogged hand early on, I had to waste a couple of my Sundials.  I cleared the field once before this screenie with a Plague+Bone Wall combo.

Up to this point, I tried to hold on to my Plague as long as possible.  I wanted him to Fractal as many times as possible and waste as much Fire quanta as possible ablazing his Spirits.

But I almost lost everything when he Deflag'd my Sundial!

A couple more Sundials in the end helped tide me over until the Poison finally killed him, one turn before deck-out.  : P

The deck I used:
Code: [Select]
5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f3 5f3 5f3 5f3 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f8 5fc 5fc 5fc 61o 61o 61t 622 622 622 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63aOriginally, was for ICB so the upgraded cards were the 3 Phoenixes and 3 Aether Pendulums.  I couldn't believe how well it worked without the Phoenixes upgraded, but in the end, it did make a difference.

Match 1: i saw his deck and thought i could win if i get a good draw.  However, I saw the Plague/Bonewall/Sundial combo and knew they would be close matches.  I Started with a good hand and fractal'd and played phoenixes as much as I could.  he got a ton of poison on me in the first few turns.  he plagued phoenixes and set up his bonewall/sundial combo.  that was the end of that.
http://img219.imageshack.us/i/elementswar.png/

Match 2:  I got a little bit of a better hand.  this time, i was going to fractal fire spirits because they have more health.  he got an ok hand, but needed more poison.  in the last few turns, he got out his plague/bonewall/sundial combo the 2nd time that match (the first time i deflaged his sundial).  If i hadnt played phoenixes early on, i probably could have won.

All in all, these were great games Dragoon.

Congratz Dragoon :]

I wonder if it counts as a game subbed by non-substitute (0 cards), or anything else, since Brion and icecoldbro arranged a duel yesterday at 19 GMT and Brion was there, while icb didn't show up.
May the force of the D4HK side be with U ^_^

Ouch!  At first my thoughts were "Why on earth would :aether take unupped Phoenix with Fractal?" until I realized that it was meant for ICB to use.  That said, it's a shame that this deck couldn't be used how it was supposed to, since I'm more than certain it would have made for a much closer match.

This is a deck that requires the upped cards to run at maximum efficiency, especially when facing bonewalls since you can get out more minor phoenix for the same quanta.  That said, I can't believe it was this competitive without the upgrades, so I give kudos to gocubbies1212 for the fantastic effort after being put in an awkward position.

And the next thing that's gonna happen is icb giving up his general position.
