Freeze means the permanent doesn't do anything (if used on pillars, freeze only affects one, but the entire stack is protected).
It can be used on the opponent's permanents.

Make it freeze the permanent (permanent doesn't do anything) for a few turns, then protect it infinitely
I like this idea.  It would be an interesting new game mechanic.

Make it desync the game when played
I lol'd.  That's some good stuff.

Well actually freezing a voodoo doll freezes the opponent's weapon, so it'd be just like that. After, it'd be the same as protect artifact. I guess the advantage is that it is cheaper/can be splashed in any deck.

Eh. That's because yours wasn't a water card.

Any opinion on it protecting permanents?

I think a lock of ice is actually weaker than a whole block.

No, it isn't. Said lock is built strongly, so it's the same. An ice block is just that, and requires a lot of frozen water. An ice lock is carefully crafted with many elements, but only a small amount of each, represented by random quantum cost. I completely just made up something that hardly makes sense.

I am not concerned about the name just yet.

I need feedback on mechanics.

Maybe don't make the lock "of ice", it can thaw easily, if you know what I mean.

It doesn't thaw, because of the way it is crafted. The only way to destroy it is with a permanent destruction card, which kills the lock but protects the permanent.

Again, I am not concerned about the name just yet.

Hope it's in temperature of absolute zero.

Off topic, but I like your sense of humor.  Wry, witty, win, karma.

Hope it's in temperature of absolute zero.
I think you're missing the point.  Can a purple scimitar change the distribution and alignment of energy?  Obviously not, but Discord can.  Elements is about things that are only possible by the ideals of the element, often using the element in a vacuum to accomplish the goal.

Thanks, Seiya.

It is a water version of enchant artifact with a shorter lasting time. And that's the reason I think this card should exist. As of now, earth is the only element that can protect permanents. Water, as a defensive element, should have this ability too. I don't want it to be exactly the same except for element though, so it's a bit different.
