Angry Santa: Christmas for your Score!!! https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=12659.msg159632#msg159632
« on: September 16, 2010, 08:42:22 pm »
ah Christmas... happy memories of sitting around the phoenix fire and summoning golems

Well fire fans, your EM deck has finally arrived!!!  Thanks to the awesomeness of life's heal card, EM's are now in the palm of your hand.  The deck uses minor phoenix as its grunt army, while a few destroyers and dragons can be summoned thanks to cremeation and serve as the muscle.  I have got 4 turn EM's of AI3 on a good draw so this deck is definately fast as a fire deck should be, it also can have some terrible draws as also occurs with cremeation based decks.

Will definately update with speed and EM stats soon, stay tuned.

Special thanks to hrmmm for helping with early testing and smuglapse for the opening line.

Christmas ftw ;).  I like the feel of this deck, though I am slightly disappointed at the thought of Speed EM'ing without my trusty froggies :(.  I assume the  ??? are fire pends, correct?

Is this half-way cross between the cremation golem rush and a life EM really necessary? This half way cross is bond to reduce the consistency of this deck by quite a bit, I think the ultimate speed EM deck should fare much better than this deck in terms of EM rate, and the normal cremation rush would also be much faster than this. Lets just let life do what life does best and let fire do what fire does best, mixing them up in this manner really doesn't look like it works. Besides, life is plenty fast all by itself. I figure the ??? are fire pendulums, right?

I tried a more balanced approach with froggies, but it just didn't work as well :(.  Honestly it still needs fine tuning.  Like most fire rushed its highly unstable, but beautiful when its on.  I've got several 5 turn EM wins in testing, so it definately works.

One other thing, I noticed this deck lacks a weapon.  How would adding a Long Sword or a Gavel affect its speed?

Yes the '???' are fire pendulums.

For the most part yes it is a cross between a cremation golem rush and a life EM deck.  Is is necessary? absolutely not.  My mono life speed EM deck beats every other deck score grinding hands down.  However as a deck builder/tester I just can't help and see how other combinations work.  I wondered how a rainbow EM deck would work and after testing came the healbow which is a good deck in its own right.   The goal of this exercise is to find an EM deck that works for those who are fans of fire decks.  Hope that helps.

It will have a sword eventually.  I just have to figure out where to put it, lol.  8)

Hmm...I'm just wondering why there is green in a red deck. Seems like an oxymoron to me :P

For what it's worth, this deck is less susceptible to Quicksand and Quantum denial in general.

Yeah, once you get the first phoenix out quanta is not usually too big an issue.  I will test more and tweak the card ratios until this works the best.  I need another phoenix and cremeation to make the quanta flow the best, but don't know where they'll come from yet.
