School just started, and I'm in Grade 12 now. Starting from now until February, this half-year is about the most important year in my life because it decides whether I can get into a good university or not. During this time, I can no longer afford to slack off, as I'll have to concentrate on my studies to maintain my good marks. I don't think I'll be able to come here every day, like I used to. I guess that means I'll have to drop out the Trial of Darkness, but I'd rather fail that Trial than fail at applying into my university.

Hopefully, I will still be able to come here during weekends. I should be able to keep the Weekly Featured Card project on the wiki up and running, so you don't have to take away my Wiki Editor title But still, I don't think I'll be able to participate in the Trials, or the War that's coming up.

Well, this is it, I suppose. See you guys on... Saturday?

EDIT: After getting insulted by three different people, I have to clarify something here. No, I did not expect this to happen. My parents just randomly came to me and said, "from now on you can no longer play games or go on internet forums during weekdays". If I have seen that coming, I would have never joined the Trial of Darkness, so please don't come and say things like "OMG why did you join if you knew you're gonna back out". I. DID. NOT. KNOW.

Also, please don't ask me to do unreasonable things such as becoming a rebel, get my own place to live, etc. Chinese parents are always harsher than white parents, and my own parents are even more paranoid about universities than regular Chinese parents. If I don't do exactly what they say during this crucial period of time, they will kill me. So no, I cannot do things like secretly getting up at 3 AM and go on the forums while my parents are sleeping, or anything else that will get me permanently banned from using my computer ever again.

As the person who had to spend countless of hours organizing the Trials, it annoys me that you simply decided to walk away right before the Final Battle. It's not like something suddenly came up and you are unable to continue. You chose to quit over something that you've known is going to happen. I find that to be disrespectful against the organizers, the event, and the whole community.

About the Wiki Editor title. Being a Wiki Editor should be more than just running one Featured Card project. It should be about making sure the whole Wiki is running smoothly, and that requires time and effort. There are many members who update the Wiki but don't have any fancy titles. This title matter will be later decided by the council when we evaluate the need for staff members.

That's exactly what happened. Yesterday, my parents made it very clear to me that they will not allow me to come here during weekdays anymore. I'm not stupid; I did not know that they were going to restrict my online time. I wouldn't have participated in the Trials if I had known that they're suddenly going to ban me from going on the internet.

I remember you saying that you're gonna become a senior in high school blahblah since the start of the trials. I understand how you feel about this year because I'm a rising senior in high school as well.

But then, if you knew that this was gonna happen, you shouldn't have joined the trials in the first place. Why the heck did you decide to continue with Elements if you were that worried about school life and stuff?

Thankfully, I seem to have the natural ability of crazy time management, and am successfully doing my work as dorm proctor(RA), application stuff, socialize, follow up with my schoolwork, and still play Elements at the same time. I knew that I could do this, and therefore I joined the trials and now one step away from possibly becoming a master(mistress...?)



This is not a simple matter of a behavior in Elements community; this has got to do with the attitude you're going to carry on along with your life. Do you think you can drop out of a project that you were working on for days or months and suddenly decide to drop one day due to some random reason?

I have had a bit of respect for you as probably the most active member after SG and also a great wiki editor. However, after seeing this, I just have one final sentence to say:

What am I supposed to do then, huh? Keep getting on here and risk being caught by my parents? If I get caught, I will PERMANENTLY lose my right to go on the internet and play games. They will lock up my computer. They've never been happy with me coming here every day, and they're more than willing to take that right away from me.

Actually, there is.  Most high schools will have some sort of internet connection.  So if you can get your little asian hands on a laptop, which most schools should also provide, you can now post on the forums.

Oh, sure. Get into the school library, go on the forums, get caught by the librarian, and get kicked out of the library. School computers are for educational purposes only; anything other than that are not allowed. I'm not even sure if I can get past the internet blocks; sites like Facebook and YouTube are automatically blocked from my school network. We students used to have a few secret proxies, but I think the school blocked all of those already.
