IDEA:

NOTES:
The idea is that when you use it, the creature removes the target's ability and takes it for its own. Kind of like a lobotpmizer, except it's one time use and you get to use the ability afterwards.
The price of the new ability will be the same as it was for the creature, except with dark quanta
SERIES:
No idea what this is

So, any helpful tips or criticism?

The new ability would cost the same as it did on the original creature, but in  :darkness quanta instead of whatever it was originally

i would bump the unupped down 1  :darkness playing cost, reason, steal is 3 :darkness so the base of both have to be 3, then creatures like cockatrice are 4l4 with a cost of 3, since it has 2 less attack it is a little less valuable so it should be 2 :darkness put the 2 together, and ta da 5 :darkness upped is fine though. nice card

I hadn't actually considered the price as a whole of the ability and playing cost. I don't think you can judge by attack/defence though, because the theft ability means you could steal Growth/Blaze and get bigger that way.

I'll have a look at the play cost though- thanks

You have pleeeeeenty of room on that card to write "The cost of the ability is the same, but uses darkness quanta instead." And while you're at, you should also use the larger version. Otherwise, nice idea and balanced card!

well i just based the cost off of cards already made, steal being 3 :darkness with  the normal card, and steal a permanent, depending on the card or your own deck, it can be abused just as bad, if not worse than growth/blaze

Nice a spell card that does this with abilities. Check this card out for one that steals spells and use :aether to pay for it. http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9672.0.html

I like the idea of a steal ability. Just one thing this is one use right. So after you have used the ability the creature you stole it from gets it back? or is it lost for all time?

Intersting you can use this on your own creatures as well..

Thanks

Scyther

the way i read it, permanently steals it from the creature, but it is a one time use ability

Like eh pewwwp said, the Theft is a one time ability, but it steals it permanently. So you can view it like a lobotomizer in a way, in that it permanently removes an ability from a creature, it's just that Trickster takes the ability instead. Permanently.

I'll take a look at your card - looks like quite an interesting idea

I really like this idea, but I think you should probably do the following tasks if you want it to advance to higher stages of the card ideas and art section ^^; :

-Cite an ACTUAL link directly to the picture you found. The link you provided thus far is just the 'home page' of a blog that doesn't have the fingerprint image anywhere on the first page - you need to specify the card art link in this sense and give credit where due
-Bloat the image to double the size if possible (or look in this topic (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,5039.0.html) for the correct dimensions).
-Add the :darkness marks to your card art image or fix the differences between the card image and the table
-Change 'Dark' to 'Darkness' next to your 'Elements' section of the table, and fix the numbers for the Attack | HP

That said, a Trickster or Identity Thief would be a very interesting monster in Elements. I've seen several ideas that either 'copy' (as ScytherLoL has pointed out) or 'take' a creature's ability temporarily, but this one really embodies :darkness the best.

Also, there's a potential combo here:

1) Play a duo- :darkness/ :fire combo with :darkness towers/pillars and a Mark of Fire
2) Play a Gargoyle and this card
3) Steal the Gargoyle's '+20 Stone Form HP' boost and use it asap
4) Play multiple Rage Potions on your massively HP boosted Trickster or Identity Thief
5) ???
6) Profit!

Thanks for the tips - I'll get on them as soon as possible.
I wasn't sure about the art link, because it seems to be one of those sites which just trawl the internet for images itself, and then puts it up itself. I'll link them properly anyway.

How do I add the  :darkness ability cost to the image art? Is it in the Card Maker thing, or should I do a bit of messing round on paint?
