Anarook - idea inspired by OldTrees
NOTES:
The idea came from OldTrees for Synergy with Nightmare and Denial decks. I felt the discard effect alone wasn't enough and added a bit, though I believe it still needs a bit more.
Thanks to Zblader for the artwork and Zanz for the original elements card that it was based off of.

Does not stack.
If you have no free space in your hand, you will gain the quanta but no card.

Great card.

It fits the Darkness thematic parasitism theme very well
It has 2 primary uses
Nightmare to force a discardDenial to prevent cards from being played
With nightmare you would start to get duplicate copies of the nightmared card beyond the 6 card limit
With denial you would start to get their less valuable cards that you could use to attack them

The cost and benefit seem to be balanced and pay for themselves with the 2nd-3rd card stolen.

I really like this card.
This would take place in my deck. Definitively. I will vote for this card
Great work.

I like it a lot but should it be cheaper? isnt mindgate 5 and 4 and it can steal cards every turn without the 2 card combo

The best name for the card would be Scavenge, although that's already taken by the vulture's skill "scavenger."
"Snatch" is kinda taken by "Steal", though, so the same can be said about the current name. <.<

It's already pretty cheap. Mindgate's cost is 9 or 8 (5 or 4, ability costs of abilities used each turn count twice so +4).
This is 4 or 3 (5 or 4, quanta gained from situational triggers only count once so -1).

However, I agree, since it has a limited amount of uses (6, nightmare + silence chain) and multiple copies of it can clog your hand. In addition, nightmare might not even force the opponent to discard, since most pillar-based decks have enough quanta to play the cards that were originally in the hand.

Otyugh -> Devourer.
No problem ;)

And on-topic, a very good card. Maybe lower cost by one - it seems a bit overpriced.

I debated lowering the cost, or increasing the gained quanta.
Either way its awaiting aproval, I can withdraw it temporarily though

I don't think that increasing the gained quanta would help much, as it's very situational alone. And all cards that rely on other cards should be low-cost (see vulture, scorpions, scarab, immolation)

I'm generally interested in the nightmare mechanic (see here (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23363.0.html)). I suppose that this is made to be played in mono/darkness nightmare decks. You nightmare your dark creatures which your opponent wants to discard. Then you receive a copy of it with some more quanta to play it. Clever. I'm fine with the name. However, as some people already mentioned, I find the cost a bit high...
A question, does the effect stacks? If you have 3 of these. Does it gives you 3 copies of the discarded card? And what happens if you have only 1 free slot?

Almost complete list of synergies roughly from best Snatch to worst:
Devourer
Nightmare
Trident
---
Silence
Butterfly Effect
Pulverizer
Earthquake
---
Deflagration
Steal
(combinations like Nightmare Pest works better)
