War: Underworld
Brackets

Event starts in: War: Underworld has started!

This is a double-elimination tournament that uses two different kind of brackets: winners brackets and losers brackets. Everyone starts out in the winners brackets. When you lose the first time, you will drop down to the losers bracket. When you lose the second time, you are out of the event and out of War.

Tournament is over after round 3. The 8 remaining players will form Team Underworld and join War main event.

Rules regarding deckbuilding and everything else can be found in War: Underworld - Rules (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,13922.0.html).

Sooooo, What do you do if your opponent doesn't answer any of your messages!?
And if he/she doesn't do it before the round is over?

You PM me, explaining the situation, and I'll give you the win.

This will probably happen at least a couple of times during round 1 because there are some low attention span players among those 32.

Ouch...most likely true, but ouch.  I find the tournament has actually gotten me to pay more attention than normal to this game.

Okay... Kind of sad... But i guess its the best way to do it... Just wish that people would stop joining and then be on for 3 days and never comeback again (Not that i say my opponent is like that, but some might be like that)

Hoped more people would be like numnut.... Atleast i am ;D

How about the balance of those who win due to his opponent's no-show. Are they going to match-up with each other or just rise ? Technically, a person might rise up to  3rd round without doing anything.  Seeing only 12 / 32 people made their matches, and 20 haven't done it after 3 days passed, its even possible in practice. Everyone should do equal amount of matches to rise to a certain round to be fair.

Yes, you could, in theory, get to the final 8 without fighting a single match. We could call it.. the will of Gods.

I'm trying to decipher the brackets, but I'm confuzzled.  We need 8 people for the team during what round exactly will we know who those top 8 are.  Are we playing to finals when obviously the final 2 made the team?

After a total of 4 rounds of fighting, we will have 4 players left in the winners brackets, and 4 players left in the losers brackets. These 8 players will form Team Underworld.

What makes it confusing is that players in losers brackets have to fight twice during a round, as opposed to players in the winners brackets who only fight once per round.

Ok I'm a bit confused. Ok lets say player 1 and player 2 are in the winners bracket so they have to play each other. Player 1 is busy so they can only play each other towards the end of the round. Meanwhile Player 3 and player 4 are in the losers bracket they get their game done nice and quick and player 3 wins. Player 3 is then waiting for the loser of the match between player 1 and 2 but as i said before player 1 is busy so they can only play their match at the end of the round and player 1 wins. Then player 2 and player 3 do not have the time to play the game due to player 1 having been busy and the round ends before they can. What would happen? What if it was player 2 who was busy? and if it was the losers bracket game which took a long time to happen would the consequences be different? Why am I asking so many question? Who stole the cookie dough?

That's a legit question and something I've been thinking about myself. The method I chose to fix this is "just go with it and pray that all matches get fought". Sounds good, huh?

If what you said happens, we might need to use overtime or something like that. I don't know.. I'll deal with it on a case-by-case basis.
