I agree it can be exploited a bit BUT i think having people not being able to field legal decks is worse since that gives away free wins.

Building legal decks shouldn't be an issue as long as you plan appropriately.

All teams were given the tools to completely avoid having to build suicide decks. With some planning

I was thinking about ways to make War end faster. Currently it lasts a bit too long.

Current system of discarding and salvaging:

Would it really be all that faster? Salvaging is the "reward" for all that deckbuilding and sweating; everyone loves to salvage and plan new possible decks from useless cards.
If its for the next war, I'd rather cut down number of players if possible. If its for this war... I dont know...

Or... How about system from poker tournaments with paying ante before every round. Its a way to cut down all vaults by letting players pick cards for it themselves. Ante serves the same purpose you want to have here - find the winner faster.

Personally I like longer wars (as they give off that 'feeling' of epicness :) ), but if it needs to be shortened for this war, this system technically works, as no other team can get any positive bonuses anymore.

That said, here's my suggestion:

ROUND 1-6: (Same as SG's)
ROUND 7: salvage 5 (Substitute salvages 2)
ROUND 8: salvage 4 (Substitute salvages 2)
ROUND 9: salvage 3 (Substitute salvages 1)
ROUND 10: salvage 2 (Substitute salvages 1)
ROUND 11: salvage 1 (Substitute can't salvage)
ROUND 12: no salvage
ROUND 13: no salvage
etc.

...it'd make it more streamlined in my opinion. ^^;

reduce team members (8, duel organizer is the least useful imo...substitute can take the role of duel organizer)
start discard at 10, increment of 5 each round :-

ROUND 1: discard 10, salvage 6
ROUND 2: discard 15, salvage 6
ROUND 3: discard 20, salvage 6
ROUND 4: discard 25, salvage 6
ROUND 5: discard 30, salvage 6
ROUND 6: discard 30, salvage 6

salvage should stay at 6 imo

Yeah I don't really like the idea of cutting back on salvage. As it is right now, if you win a couple matches against an element, you can salvage enough to make new decks. If you cut the salvage down to 3, you might as well get rid of it altogether because you won't ever really be able to salvage enough to make new decks anyway.

Hey, hey, hey.. no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Salvaging 3 cards obviously wouldn't be as helpful but it certainly is still beneficial.

Like quantumT says, salvaging less than 6 cards makes them not worth doing.  You won't be creating new decks out of 3 cards.

I'd rather have a system with brackets containing 35 cards instead of 30 and you can wrap up the last round faster by forcing teams to discard more than they play per loss.  The first cards come from your played hand, the remainder come from your vault. 

So the uncapped losses system looks like:

Alternative system:
ROUND 1: discard 6, salvage 6
ROUND 2: discard 12, salvage 6
ROUND 3: discard 18, salvage 6
ROUND 4: discard 24, salvage 6
ROUND 5: discard 30, salvage 6
ROUND 6: discard 36, salvage 6
ROUND 7: discard 42, salvage 6
ROUND 8: discard 48, salvage 6
ROUND 9: discard 54, salvage 6
ROUND 10: discard 60, salvage 6

Team A = 117 cards
Team B = 30 cards

Team A can field 3 legal deck and team B can only field 1. If team B wins 1 match they would then win the whole war since Team A would lose 78 cards and only have 29 left.  For a event that long no way you should have a huge advantage like that and lose in 1 match.
