With regards to the 60-participant decision, the main impetus was the lack of any available substitutes. While we do not wish to exclude people that want to participate, it is unrealistic to assume that all 72 participants would be able to contribute for the duration of the event. We do not want to be in a position where a team needs to replace an inactive member but cannot find another player to take that role.
Other considerations were raised, but we felt this was a significant enough issue to warrant this decision. We apologize to those impacted and for the inconvenience of the sudden change.
The affected role will be Support. The Support function will remain but will not be utilized until teams are unable to field six decks.
Regarding shards and the new cards, shards are still excluded and the new cards will be as well. The new cards are excluded not for balance concerns but for lack of testing. We wish to avoid a situation, like with Voodoo Dolls, where problems with a card's implementation require it to be removed after vaults are set. The cards may also be changed after vault building ends making the decisions on those cards obsolete. We want to eliminate any unfairness this could cause as well.
While we are leaning against allowing the cards to be added later via the Quartermaster, this is not set in stone. They will also most likely be available in support battles.
