War #4 - Round 6

Entropy got it pretty bad this time too, with 2x general 4x lieutenants.  But yeah... ugh!  I'm just happy that my time vs earth match is against a soldier, the only soldier time faces this round!  It is statistically more likely for earth/entropy/time to be facing a lot of them, since most of the soldiers left in war now are on those three teams, but even so, this is going to be hardcore :p

After going last round facing 0 Generals or Lieutenants, Entropy isn't going to get much sympathy from anyone for having tough matchups this round lol

My gut tells me the answer to this question is "no", but I want to ask just to make sure and dot all the proverbial 'i's and cross all the proverbial 't's:  If a team already has Short Swords or Shields in their Vault, a deck that uses one of those cards are not given bonus upgrades, right?

I don't get it. Why would anyone take a Shield or Sword from their Vault when you can take any number of those cards for free and gain the bonus?

Furthermore, how would we even differentiate between the two, seeing that the cards are identical?

You can't upgrade a sword taken with the event card, but might want an upped sword in the deck if you have one in the vault.

Yes, but then you lose those 2 bonus upgrades so what's the point? Instead of getting 3 upgraded non-Swords, you would get only 1 upgraded Sword. Sure there are certain decks that work better with upped Swords, but those decks would lose to a deck that has tons of upped cards.
