I still think the decent way to deal with this sort of discussions, is to somehow start from round1 in future WARs. We can do weekly tournaments within a few hours, why not uw tourney ?

Also i should add; try to look on the other side of the coin. Being a former UW member, i very much disliked starting on round 4 regardless of the advantages or disadvantages, it is really less fun to join the event that late.

I agree totally with this point.  Over half of our UW team only played 1 match, which I think diminishes the purpose of having the team.  Being able to compare what UW was like and what a regular team was like, as long as UW has a strong leader who knows what they are talking about, they should be able to build a decent vault and compete from round 1.

Underworld was a beautiful mind-child to deal with a vast, overwhelming amount of interest in war.  I think it was a great solution and continues to be so.  You can not have UW start in round 1 because they are rejects from the auction.  They need the time to duke it out and shrink down to 8. 

As for the UW team only playing one match, you fail to point out the matches necessarily to make the team!  I found the three matches I played to make it onto the team some of my most thought over games thus far within this community.  Yes, they are not 'war matches' but they ARE 'war matches'!! Besides, this war is looking the same way for other teams as well.  Life has had 7, 8 play, then all 8, and now we have only 7 players, meaning our eighth only had two mates.  If we do bad again, even more of our players would only get two matches. 

Let us all do our best with what opportunities we are given and leave nothing behind.

Attention everyone: I read this thread three times through and it turns out someone asked an on-topic question!

Event card question:

If a team were to suicide, would their opponent receive an event card bonus? If so, does it depend on their posted deck?

Warmasters will take a look at both decks and decide whether the matches need to be played out in order to determine opponent's Event Card success.  ie if it's a 30 pillar deck versus a 31 pillar deck using the "Stall" Event Card, there's no need to play and opponent will be given the extra salvage.  If opponent is using the "Rush" Event Card and your deck is mostly junk but has a couple mark-powered dimshields or something, we'll ask you to play it out.  The silver lining is because you know you're going to lose, anyone on your team can sub.

When in doubt, play it out.

Players who participate in UW tournament are less active on average, which is probably one of the reasons why they were not chosen in a regular team in the first place. Looking at the past inactivity in UW tournaments, and seeing how many duels do not happen even though players have days to set them up, do you think we could get all these players online at one fixed time? I don't think so. That kind of tournament would probably be a huge disaster.

There are two main reasons why UW is not joining round 1.

1. Waiting for UW tournament to finish, would delay the start of the event
2. UW joining mixes things up, making the event less stagnant, therefore more fun. (although Event Cards and recent change of less overall rounds, also help with that)
3. UW joining later fit the "come back for a revenge" theme, although this is definitely the least important reason


We'll look into this whole UW business after War 4 is over. If there is as little demand for it as we had this time, I will be more than happy to get rid of the whole UW thing and just go with the 12 elements. But if get, say 32+ people interested, then I can see why it would make sense to have UW.

Also, UW deckbuilding rules probably need some tweaking. What we use now is not what I originally had planned, and I don't think it is restrictive enough. There was a million other things to do when I implemented UW the first time, and I just somehow forgot to change the deckbuilding, so we got stuck with the "wrong" version.

I assume you wanna be sure to not lead into any clue of whatever the next events are, but anywya, not much choices but to trust you on this, I dobut would have rather had evenonly a little * saying don't worry uw won't be as op as they looked, because saying nothing... some will think you don't know that... proof being all that chat about it.  And that's enough for me about it!  I'll let head of my enemies roll and whatever happens happens!
