If you read our team thread, you'll notice early on in the War each member was filling out the duties of his role individually and it wasn't really a coordinated group effort.  We also had to replace 2 members over the course of the War (and would have replaced more if allowed.)  Both of these factors seriously hampered organization and deck-building.  Still, we managed to make it to 5th place and fell 1 round short of the finish despite this obvious deficit in planning.  So somehow this was either not the fatal flaw it seems to be or we (including our talented pick-up players) were all the more awesome for overcoming it as well as we did.

2.  Plan a rainbow deck from the beginning.
!!!
It's kinda sad to say this but every team that didn't have at least one Nova-Graboids deck in their Vault did something wrong.
Here's a quick tutorial on how to make one:
- 6 Novas
- 6 Graboids
- 3 more cheap utility rainbow cards that make most sense against your opponent (usually CC, Deflags, Fog Shield or Purify)
- 15 cards from your own Element that don't suck too much...
yea. I was facepalming so many times after I made my team's vault. fml.
We took Graboids after the first round, when the bonus from the Propaganda Topic came into play.  Getting whipped by :entropy with a deck of that kind made us think twice about not including one of those in our repertoire :)

The main thing life did wrong was lose.

Lets be honest, without those early crappy rounds, this could have been an entirely different war.  And if we had beaten nyma the second time?  We would have had a fractal deck, and a nova/graboid deck, and our firestall would have been better.  We could have easily come in second.

Honestly, I can't think of much that we explicitly did wrong.  Sure, we never /ever/ PVP tested our decks (or if we did I missed it, sorry guys ¡^_^), and that drama with nyma stunk, but I think things went pretty right.

Oh, I regret trying to take rustlers over graboids.  Boy, would THAT have been a mistake.

EDIT:  Almost forgot.  I regret not making my propaganda speech better.  The fight I had with Zeru is something I sincerely wish could go away, and an extra 12 cards would have been soooo cash.

Yeah basically to sum  up what Gl1tch said, it isn't what went wrong, but what went right for Team Life.

hrmmm was an amazing deck builder. We made great last minute choices and great gameplay, especially KDZ. Also, I would like to thank our confidence. We didn't play mind games with ourselves, we made choices, stuck to them and played with confidence.

Basically I hrmmm and KDZ got us this far. I was just happy to help.

Seriously, you were a WIZARD with the vault.
Which was impressive because I can think of one major mistake we made this War - the initial Vault Building. I'm willing to take full responsibility for any screwup there, as I had no experience and only a short time to build it.

Basically, for those who don't want to trawl through our section, I essentially built the Vault by taking the best suggested deck from each element we decided to duo with, and then threw in some Rainbow enablers. I don't know how much experience would have helped me, but I suspect I would not have used quite the same method if I had to do it again.

Ultimately I think that may have been the source of our weaker first rounds - we just took the best decks relative to within a particular duo without much thought as to whether that duo would be effective in relation to the subset of all decks. It took a few rounds for those poor choices to get weeded out whilst the ones we were left with were stronger due to experience and salvage.

Where did it go wrong for the last 3 teams? When they had to face Entropy, who had over 180 spare cards for their deckbuilding. Not a particularly nice situation to deal with. I hope you all learn from this War's mistakes, and avoid such a situation again.

Congratulations. You all played well.

Ok, I'm looking over Entropy's secret section and, where did they do all they're vault building?

Was everything done in a private chat?
