What is your favourite deck, and why?
I don't like having a too long post.
My favourite deck sure is the Tsunami Rush, in various versions.

It's the best deck I built myself, that's why it's my fav.

/Card idea and question/
Genbu would put itself in a special place in my Tsunami rush decks, possibly making them stronger. Considering how often I use Tsunami, and the usefulness this would have in war, I'd use it quite a lot. Probably, it wouldn't change very very much in the game, but in the Water environment this would be a very valid alternative to Toadfish as attacker, and would create a different synergy with :gravity

What is your favourite deck, and why?
A: Heh.. actually, I didn't expect a question like this. Tough choice, but here it is:

by Tiko
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u8 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 715 74i 74i 77g 7al 7dr 7dr 7qb 7qb 7tg 7tg 7tg 7tg 80b 80b 80b 80b 8pu

This deck is an 'old' child of mine, and though it's extremely draw/luck dependent, seldomly effective and not even very well rounded (Yet, it's still capable of a 5 turn kill) - I love it for the thematics.
Hence my username.

But to be honest, I have no real favorite deck. And just like with music, it's all mood dependant for what I'd like to play at the moment.

This is from all sources. If Genbu is Gravity Pulled, the damage is reduced for each creature. Multiple hitting spells (Fire Bolt, Ice Bolt, Drain Life) only have the damage reduction 1 time. So a Fire Bolt at 10  would do 5 damage.
If this card was introduced into the game: What impact would it have? How would you utilize it? What decks would you build? How would it change :water? (You don't have to answer each question individually)
A: Interesting take on the "Black Tortoise". But to answer your question, I'd say it wouldn't really change that much. On one part, it would serve as an additional pure (hard) hitter for (unupgraded) Tsunami-like decks, and on the other, it would create a few highly focused Water-Gravity decks with a possible Earth splash, or vice versa. Or Nova-based rainbows with the same line of thought with the extra support of the common rainbow cards. On other occasions, Crawler or Toadfish is almost always a better choice.
Personally, I'd take advantage of it's strong attack, and high resist against Creature Control, possibly in a mono rush, or a Water-Earth deck in scenarios like War: Genbu would be the ultimate weapon against Firestalls and the like, as it completely ignores Fire Shield - if I get it correctly -, and it would take 3 lightnings to kill this monster(s) after a single plate armor; just to name a few.

Water has not received a new card an a few patches.  What do you think water needs and propose an idea for a new card for water.

A: I already answered this question somewhat on page 1. Permanent Control.

"Another thing that would make Water truly competetive (and I guess evolving it into one of the fearful elements) is the long-awaited Permanent control. Either it will be a shard or Water's own card (corrosion?) it'll raise the element's effectiveness multiple times.
On another route, alternative quanta generation (tide effects, maybe) or a form of quanta denial (extinguish) to make it a real counterpart for Fire."
Phase 1 submission as Permanent Control: Shard of Patience (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,28846.msg399939#msg399939)

- I guess something like this will get implemented sometime soon.

A form of quanta denial: Extinguish | Extinguish (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,24242.0.html)

- This is a card I submitted in the CIA - Crucible section some time ago. Though I don't feel that the idea has priority to be implemented (we're better off with a PC card), and it will possibly fall out from crucible, but something like this would be a nice natural opposition for the overwhelming possibilities of Fire.

How important is community (both keeping existing players and attracting new ones) to you?  How much influence do you think Masters have in effecting community and how do you think you could contribute if you were to be Master?
It is too late to apologise.  I have already forgiven you.

A: Without this community, Elements would be just another game that you would play for some time and when you got bored at one point, you'd move on to other things that can waste your free time. The greatest reason why Elements is so particular is the community itself behind it - but this has been probably mentioned several times before me.
Old (or more preferably, elite) players in the community are a sort of milestones as I see it, something that a new player can hold on to. Their opinions and experience is an invaluable source of information for any fresh member (unless it turns into a form of elitism, but I never really experienced such a thing here). Also, they are a subject of great respect, which is needed and natural in every community (be it online or not).
Attracting new players is the basic principle that keeps every game alive, and Elements is no exception. And although there are moments when the so-called 'generations' clash, the general attitude towards 'newcomers' is the friendliest of any gaming community I've seen so far. And we all know how add!cting Elements is, so it's not that hard for anyone to get hooked. :]
Masters should play a big role in this, as they are the representatives and somewhat iconic 'voices' of the given element - at least it seemed like that for me, when I first joined the forums. Every Master should hold a deep love and a close amount of knowledge for his/her element.

All I can do in this matter, is to share my love (and probably knowledge) of Water with anyone who inquires.

Link a piece of music that best represents water.

....I'm serious.
The sound of rain. It is awesome.

But if I was to choose a song that inspires me Water, it'd be Champagne Supernova by Oasis.
Seriously.
It is very calm and relaxing.
While listening to it, I always feel like I'm submerged. Even when I'm switching lanes in the traffic on my bike.

Water has not received a new card an a few patches.  What do you think water needs and propose an idea for a new card for water.
Permanent Control, obviously. I'll never be tired to sing this out loud.

The shard idea of PC is kind of a weak idea, the card needs to be Water completely.
I guess this is already getting implemented as zanz idea. (but as a shard, sadly).

Another possibility not considered is an unique quanta-harmonizing ability, like shown in here.
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,28404.msg388040#msg388040 (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,28404.msg388040#msg388040)
Disclaimer: I'm a terrible card builder.

Community is quite important to me. I was surprised in finding such mature people in a game community.
I don't actually know how much do masters affect community, but I think it's quite enough for their respective elements.

I already am master, and I'm trying to contribute what I can bringing Water cards in PVP as often as possible. Water isn't a weak element, it just needs some love.

Rather than using a method of "Open Synergy" like Aether (PU, Fractal, etc.) Water focuses on forced duos.

With that said, do you consider this fact an advantage or a disadvantage?

It's neither. It has pros and cons:

Pro:

Synergies are already set and less combo-ish. (see the Mono Water with Earth mark for Tridents).

Con:

You can't do much outside two elements with a card (unless the name is Toadfish).
