Mark of Death
The mark of death, a basic skill needed to even start WoE. It lets you explore all elements with a good duo with death, while in turn, letting you use 1 upgraded card as a starting block. Basic and needed skill.
Tier 1
Animate Mummy
Kind of a win/lose situation with this skill. If you do happen to beat you opponent you get one of the stronger unupped death cards added to your inventory/deck, but if you happen to lose you get the worst death card, skeleton. So, I like this fit’s the theme of win and be rewarded or lose and be punished.
Death March
Now this skill throws me off just a tad bit, why would someone pay 3AP to move 2 hexes and be immobilized for the turn after, when they could use 2AP to move the same 2 squares and still have 1AP left over for some other action? Unless I misunderstand I honestly see no use for this, unless you want to rush towards and opponent for a quick surprise attack.
Bane of Life
A pure win skill, when you beat your life opponent you gain a free +2XP, who wouldn’t love it? Although, I feel like maybe should have a somewhat negative affect also to be included in the “death” theme. Perhaps -1XP per loss to a life opponent when they have more than 50% of HP left?
Curse of the Undead
I honestly don’t know what to say about this skill, passive, yet genius. You defeat a player and they get forced to play your mark regardless of what element they have. One of the better tier 1 skills imo.
Rotting Disease
Almost an overpowered skill, reminds me of a huge battle of the original dune scorpion. Although, probably more balanced for turns to per in WoE. May or may not cause problems when in actual WoE.
Tier 2
Animate Bone Dragons
More of a gamble here, more rewards or more crap. We can either gain 2 dragons or 2 skeletons, the heaviest hitter and a skeleton as stated earlier is just a pointless filler card.
Harvest a Soul
This is an extremely fast gaining skill, get a good deck, beat an opponent gain +3, while sticking to the death vs. life aspect by adding another +3. After getting this skill you get through levels a bit faster than the normal person in WoE. All the later levels with be a Burdon to get through quickly, this skill will definitely be one of the better skills to invest in.
Blood of the Undead
I’m not sure If I can see this as a useful skill or not when being used. It may be situational than anything else, I suppose if you expect someone to use a harmful skill instead of helpful skill this could make or break you. Other than that maybe the last skill to get when picking something for Tier 2.
Poisonous Cloud
This seems to be more useful in an extremely crowded area, where you could get a great lead or advantage over your opponent. Another almost OP skill, although, this can be negative as well since it affects all players, including your own. This also needs a relic to sacrifice, making it a more balanced than OP skill.
Unholy Necromancer
Another sacrifice skill, although, I don’t like the idea that they become the same stats when killed. To fit more as a “necromancer” maybe they should come back with a 50% chance to either be resurrected as a more powerful being or resurrected as a weaker sort of “zombiefied” being. This, imo, fits necromancy more than full resurrection, since when a dark necromancer usually makes all his creatures stronger for an army or messed up from a wrong spell making it stronger/weaker.
Lich
A good faster to kill skill, weaken the enemy and it’s just enough to where the killing blow can be delivered next turn, but you can just kill them anyway. A good skill if your expecting any stall opponent, a good skill for tier 3.
Tier 4
Master of Death
A great final skill, since most of deaths power comes from low-cost cards and quick hitters. 18 is just enough for a great deck from death in any match, good skill overall as being a master.
