All right, time for my shameless self-promotion.
What is Darkness about, and why do I want to be the Master of Darkness?Simply put, Darkness is about taking your opponent's power and strengthening yourself. By itself, Darkness is the most efficient element of all, because it weakens your opponent and makes you stronger at the same time. Almost all of Darkness's essential abilities are about taking your opponent's power for yourself: Steal takes away your opponent's permanents and uses them against him/her; Drain Life and Vampire takes away your opponent's HP, and gives them to you instead; Devourer takes away your opponent's quanta, converts them to Darkness and gives them to you. This has always been my favorite play style in all the games I've played, and Darkness has always been my favorite element regardless of the game it's in. That is the reason why I want to be the Master of Darkness, because I like the style of using your opponent's own strength against him.
Who helps new players and community members?I help those who deserve to be helped. Elements is a game of thought, and at least minimal thinking is required in order to be successful in this game. If someone wishes to be helped, then he/she only deserves to be helped if he/she at least tries to make the job easier for me; for example, asking for help in a clear, logical manner, stating exactly what your problem is and what you want me to do for you. If someone simply puts his/her starter deck in a thread and say "omg i needz heeeelllpppp pl0x", then obviously there's not much I could do other than asking "What exactly do you want help on?" So if you want me to help you, then try to state clearly
how you want me to help you; if you do that, then you more than deserve to be helped, and I will certainly help you.
Who is active on the forums?LOL LOOK AT MY POST COUNT FOOL I am very active on the forums. I might be wrong, but I
think I've been on the forum every single day since it went online (the old forum, elementstheforum.smfforfree3.com, does not count; I've been there long enough but not every single day); I dunno, I might've missed a couple of days or something. Yeah, I always squeeze out at least a little bit of my time to browse the forum every day, regardless of how busy I am.
Who writes good quality posts on the forums? Are you kidding? Making my posts of good quality is the absolutely strictest rule I give myself on the Internet, regardless of the location (well, everywhere other than chat
). To me, correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization is of the utmost importance; I do it because it is easier to read and comprehend, therefore convenient for other people. To tell the truth, I actually have to
try to type
bad quality posts. But of course, no one is perfect; sometimes I make spelling and/or grammar mistakes too, and I usually punch myself in the face afterwards. But this does mean that I'm a little bit of a grammar police/nazi, as I'll often try to convince people to type properly
Situtation: A new player just came to you and ask you to help them with a deck that fits there playing style. be it mono duo or what ever
Q: How would you go about helping them out?
Personally, I would convince the new player to make the Speed Graboid deck. If he/she is only starting to play the game, then efficiency is much more important than preference and sentimentality; if the new player wants to have enough money to build his/her dream deck, then he/she should first build a deck that grinds AI3 with maximized efficiency.
But of course, the new player wants to make a deck that fits him/her. After advising him/her to build the Speed Graboid deck, I would then try to make a deck that fits the player.
Who do you think could take Darkness to "the next level"?I believe that I have a comparatively good and thorough understanding of Darkness's central theme. I am quite imaginative, and I believe that I could design cards that would revolutionize Darkness.
OK, I'm bragging a little bit here... Also, a shameless demonstration of my artistic skillz:
