Actually, most matches in this game are decided by the opening hand RNG, so there's not much you can do except make your decks as consistent as possible, and sometimes even that is not enough :/
Most skill in this game is during deckbuilding, rarely does it matter how well you play during the actual game as long as you're at least better than the AI.
You can either deal with it or spread the salt. Please don't do the latter.
I'll answer this one: Wyand took the numbers straight out of this table or at did the math himself. It is not 100% accurate due to mulligan but the error is negligible and I have never seen anyone continually question those numbers.
That being said a game without RNG tends to be boring. So, it's imperative to work those numbers to get to the most desirable outcome. Bitching about RNG is fine, just don't overdo it.
Guys, thanks for encouraging. Yep, I'm frustrating myself with that table. My main issue with this game, what iancu wrote. That it doesn't really matter how do you
play out your deck. That's bad, I think. Feels like we are living simulators... I guess I stated many times: I would change the game to be less about RNG, and more
about playstyle. Yeah, you may say: hey, play chess! Sadly, I lack the patience to do so.
Opening hand is 1/3 chance not to get it, which is astronomically high compared to what a deck like that would like. Comparatively, 5 copies gives 1/4 not to be in opening hand, and 6 copies is a bit less than 1/5. It's not terribly surprising not to get one such card in opening hand, and is why I like to run more creatures than buffs. Even looking at that deck I would definitely trade 1 Oty for another Charger. Also, I'd get rid of a bunch of Adrens for Mito and Heals. Heals makes the deck much more consistent as well, giving more survivability. Which this deck certainly appreciates, if not requires. Sure it has Oty, but those are slow and you'll be dead anyway against a strong rush deck.
Yep, I guess I mentioned in my original post, that 5:3 Charger:Otyi is better, but my mindset was really focused on the extra CC, and not getting Chargers for so long doesn't have high chances.
Hard to know what to expect, when my usual tourney luck produces experiences like this - there was a time, when I maniacally added 1-2 surplus pillars/pends just to be sure...
It is also true that I overrate the role of buffs. (That's why I would love to see a true buff tourney, because it was only partially that. Must add that Otyi also benefit from Adrenaline after having 2-3 meals.
DANI had Scorps, so they slowly killed my Otyughs.)
Also, I'd like to thank all of you for your patient feedback, I really appreciate it.
(Was thinking of starting a separate 'Venting Zone' topic, so no one has to read salt, if they don't want it.)
