Special Rules
Only unupgraded cards allowed.
Only duo-decks of the opposing Element pairs allowed. That means Light/Darkness, Life/Death, Earth/Air, Fire/Water, Gravity/Entropy and Time/Aether.
Deck must contain at least 12 cards from each of the Elements.
Elements of your duo-decks have to be changed after every duel and cannot be used more then once in the same duel. (best of 3 duels in one match, except prelims)

Memory, whatever is not forbidden is allowed. You can even add quantum pillars since they are without element.

well... it does say only opposing element pairs allowed... my first interpretation is that this would mean only 2 element type of cards in a deck... meaning no QT... perhaps a different mark would be ok tho.

40% of both elements would leave 20% room for cards from the other element

"Other" is not an Element, so you could have 20% Other, but no real Element. You can have any mark; they are not part of what defines a deck.

Btw, it has been suggested I lower the requirement to 30% of one Element. Now, personally, I'd prefer if this duality was very noticable. 9 out of 30 cards (30%) is just too focused for the concept, as I see it. I'd like to hear what the community thinks, though.

If you can only have 20% other, maybe the wording should be "at least 40% of both elements."

When I read 40% of one of the two elements, I started thinking about how lots of other cards might be able to help, since, I thought, I could do something like time/aether, 6 fate eggs, 2 anubis, 4 sundials, 6 fractal/parallel universe, and tons of quantum pillars.  This would be 40% of one of the elements (time).

But it would not be 40% of both.

I believe this would satisfy the rule as written (40% of one of the two elements), but not as intended (as the intent, I believe is to force at least 40% of both elements).

All formulations cause problems. With your suggestion, more people would start wondering about Other, and if you have to have 40% of the cards in the Element. Either creates questions. Of course, we can't do anything about how people think except repeat the facts. Pretty soon, the terms are going to stick.
