Lately I've been using a minor variation on the deck that depends on SoFr rather than SoFo. It increases damage by ~15% (technically 16.66% damage on scarabs, but you've got a few scarabs mixed in.) Most walls lately generally do not have many PC cards, and the decks that do usually don't have enough damage so that you can let them waste most of their PC on your towers. So this functions effectively enough to get through most soft stalls, since with both of them on your field at once even through a Dim Shield you get...
100% (Normal Chimera)
50% hit through the shield, but these have +66.66% damage, so on average you get 83.33% damage through the Dim Shield every turn. Which is helpful 'enough' to break the stalls. (x2 SoFr)
Also, minor benefits, like less freezing on Ice Shields, and staggering your Scarabs on Procrastinations so that you can devour on any turn you like rather than having all your scarabs delayed at the same time without fancy card-playing footwork.

TL;DR: Shards of Freedom cost less/easier quanta, get the majority of the damage you would otherwise want out of a chimera, and have function outside stallbreaking as extra damage compounders against any non-PC heavy deck.
