You requested my feedback on Ambush cards, so here it is. :)

Dimensional Striker: I like it because it's cheap, rushable, can provide a good strategy even as a single card and is good even on its own.

Flock of Birds, Decoy, Land Wyrm, Alligator seem like creatures with the sole purpose of being ambushers with a slight mechanical difference that keeps them from being copy/paste. Sorry if this sounds rough, it isn't a bad remark: that is why you created them after all, right? But, of these I like only the Wyrm. The mechanic is simple enough to be effective and can make for a great card. The rest try to expand different mechanics but seem to lack the simplicity Dimensional Striker and Land Wyrm warrant (or the originality, in the case of Flock of Birds).

Ghost Captain and Graviton Captain seem too complicated and lose most of their appeal to me. Plus, I don't like Graviton Captain to have another spawn ability for :time.

Tactician seems ok, Tactics the same, Retreat is a great idea (but costs WAY too much IMO, maybe reduce its effect a bit but that's definitely too much quanta).


Yeah, I'm a fan of simpler cards. :) anyway, that's just my 2cps. And it's mostly taste-based judgement, so you can just ignore it.

Yeah there is a lot of similarity with the different cards. This series was/is intended as showing different ways Ambush could be used. I knew at the beginning that some of these variations would be better than others (I just didn't know which ones). The series is suggesting a selection of stand alone cards that could but were not intended to all make it into the game (or even the forge).

Graviton Captain's use of :time represents training the soldiers instead of reproducing like FFQ. Despite its complexity is this a reasonable pairing or should I change the activation cost to something else? I personally find it slightly more complex then FFQ so I hope some of the players will find it valuable.

Retreat currently has a high cost for two reasons. First it does add a lot of damage per turn if used mid game. Second I tried to overcost it to make balancing easier because it is easier to spot how much to nerf then it is to spot how much to buff. Once it gets art and a thread its cost will certainly decrease.

Oldtrees, may i suggest that i make the cards when i make the art? because i don´t use the elements card creator, i use pixlr, which keeps the image quality at maximum
here are the 2 i made, see how the image quality is much better?
and if u need to edit anything tell me and i´ll do it, how about it?

To let all know I access to 3 programs that I use for art Pixlr, Gimp, and Photoshop each has features the others do not. best features of pixlr are color look up and kaleidescope.

About the General, yeah, I thought as much. It does make sense, but I also think it will step on Pharaoh's toes (both are :time :gravity).

Radically altering the concept... What about a Graviton General (maybe with a lower cost) that gives Ambush to all Graviton Guards (Mercs unupped), with a :fire ability that gives a +2/+0 to a target Graviton? Or even Ambush to all Gravitons (Firemasters included). And the ability could also use different quanta for different effects to avoid the :fire :gravity synergy, 'cause it's strong already. Maybe...
:earth :earth to grant +0/+3 to target Graviton (+0/+6 upped) - heavy armor, better survival training...
:darkness to make target Graviton invisible (stealth mission?)
:gravity to grant a Graviton Momentum (charge!)
:light to heal a Graviton (mending the wounds)

Just a thought, but it would keep it different from the creature spawnings and allow for some variety and theme inside Gravity...
