I believe it is only valid if you had WM approval prior to the subbed match, which I assume you did.

Aye, that was the ruling.

Just want to note the exceptional rarity of the ruling. This was a very unusual situation where both players were active and did everything they could to meet up. In the end they just couldn't, despite both players being active, due to being on opposite sides of the planet. Because they were actively communicating they saw the impossible situation far in advance of the deadline, contacted me, and I had plenty of time to assess and rule.

Cliff's notes: 99% of the time it's wrong to assume shared salvage, but here both parties did everything perfectly, helping me and their teams out. Nice work, guys.
