My Oracle spin card today was Bone Wall... was that fate? :D

We actually expected a poison deck as one of the most likely choices by Water. While playtesting our deck had some close matches, but in general it did very well – but the odd pillar/pendulum spread really hurt the quakes, and BW... well, I just hate BWs!

Round 1: Now that’s what I call a close match! The dictator won with only 3 hp left and dealt exactly the 17 dmg he needed to win (15 poison + 2 arsenic). Lost.

Round 2: Well, during playtesting my toughest matches were when arsenic arrived early - it did and I had 21 poison counter on me... Lost!

==== here team :time sacrificed an elite scarab to the RNG gods: see what happened ====

Round 3: Dic got a horrible draw with only on pillar. I just played my critters and when my Eternity showed up (first time in 3 matches!) it was lock down and end game. Win.

Round 4: I can't quite remember this one. But I do know I won with the help of my trusty Eternity again. Win!

Round 5: Another terrible pillar/pend draw from dic, besides I had 2 quakes in hand and an Eternity showed up soon. On the other hand, he played an Arsenic really soon, and the poison started to build up fast. My grabs showed up late, but as soon as I got them I started to play them. One BW got me worried that I wouldn't be able to outrace him, but no more showed up and he was 1 hp short of killing me in the last turn! Win!

Thanks for the great close matches, dictator, and sorry you had some awful luck in the last matches. I guess scarabs are a powerful sacrifice after all! I couldn't be happier for the great comeback! Go :time!

Damn

Losing by 1 hp on your last game is hatefull.

First game: got a nice start with a good mix of pendulums/pillars. Also managed to draw all 3 bonewalls, which in the end was enough to slow him down for the poison to kick in (couldn't apply much poison, because he quaked my water pendulums). Still came close, I won by 3 hp's.

<insert ffun's lunch>

Second game: start was a bit below average, but with a good split, while his was really low on quanta generation, also got an arsenic in starting hand, which proved really usefull.
Used a bolt to freeze the first shrieker that came out, and with two bonewalls I slowed him down enough.

<insert my dinner and 2 hours of train travel>

Third game: I started with nothing but a singe water pendulum and after an eternity showed up (totally unexpected) and that pendulum was quaked (it was joined by a death pillar and a death pendulum) and I couldn't do anything to stop his offense.

Fourth game: Again early eternity, but this time I had no water pendulums for the first 3 turns. Lost horribly

Fifth game: started with 4 chrysaora, only one water pendulum, managed to draw one more later in game, but again the eternity showed up. This time I had decided to wait with playing my chrysoara, partially because I already had an arsenic and 2 poison up, but zero CC or walls. So I dropped a bone wall to stop his offense, but he got more and more creatures and quickly took it down, while I dropped 3 chrysaora at once. The turn after I played a second pendulum, and after two turn I had 3 chrysaora again. But in his second to last turn I calculated my damage: 2 chrysaora out, one to be rewound, 15 poison counters on his side, arsenic on mine, 19 hp's left, and my top deck would be a rewound chrysaora :(

In general my draws were quite strange: never got to use a freeze, and never saw more than 3 water pendulums in a single game (while I managed to draw 3 death pillars/pendulums in the fourth one)

Great matches ffun, second in my list of greatest pvp matches all time (only thing I dislike is the outcome). Really tense, very close and a great and happy opponent, who doesn't make problems of available timing.

Amazing comeback ffun!
To bad we were playing at the same time so I couldn't support you.

Wow, I never imagined you had freeze in your deck - we didn't see it in any of the 5 matches! On the other hand I think the Eternitiy surprised you in the 3rd match, since it didn't show up before (I double checked my deck to see if they were really there, heh), while your pesky BWs came so often I thought you had more than 3!

As I've said after losing the 1st game, playing when you have the perfect counter against your opponent is great and all considering the result we want as a team, but what really makes war fun are these nail-biting, close matches which you don't know how will end and all decisions count. The 1st and last games were very tense, and while some of the others had bad draws, I loved the 5 matches as a whole and enjoyed imensely playing and chatting with you - definitely by favorite War duel so far and my best PvP experience ever yet.

One nice note - Dic was great fun to play with when he was winning 0-2, and he kept being fun and a great sport when he ended up loosing 3-2. If we're having a sportsmanship award, he gets my vote hands down.

This loss somehow really bothers me...
Looks like our win when we had 2 more Bolts instead of Freezes? :(

Congrats though team :time...

No Japp, I couldn't do anything about that eternity, I had trouble managing to replay my chrysaora after they were rewinded (rewound?), I couldn't use my ice bolts at all (except in the second match, but that was earthquake and eternity free. Now if I would have had 2 more pendulums instead of the freezes (and I would have drawn them) that might have helped a lot.
