Interest check: A sort of background "sourcebook"?

So, I've been playing the game a bit, and came upon the realization that hey, there's a complete lack of story with it. So, I think to myself, why not try to write something to give it a little flavor? Sort of like, say, journal entries from someone cataloging all of the element types/ generic creatures/etc. There would even be "Inidividuals of renown" for some stories.

What are all of your opinions on this?

Lore-based topics like these tend to fit best in Literary Arts (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,413.0.html). It's been done before but is a good idea though.

Elemental Lore (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,29424.0.html) seems to have had a similar concept of writing a backstory for some cards. On the other hand, if you want a more encompassing (but unofficial) storyline for ETG I'd suggest you look at 12 Realms (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,20059.0.html). Hope both of these help to inspire you.
