Posting this idea of mine to check if the mechanics itself sound interesting enough to attract players to it
when some of the current RPGs are finished. I would like to have an open Roleplay on the forum with pretty free interaction, only providing the background story / adventure plots and the NPCs. There would be character building I will describe in a minute, including classic RPG elements and a system to deal with fights of any kind.
1. The SetInfos about the set would be worked on if the poll shows interest in the game. It will be high fantasy though, and many ideas are already pretty clear and would be announced asap.
2. RulesOpen roleplay. There will be night and day, having influence on ingame events like open/closed shops and so on. Players are free to explore the world, eventually gathering infos about treasures, tournaments, being sent on missions or evolve plots theirselfs. Behaviour should be character alike, infos will be provided in the character generation section. Ingame laws will be announced and breaking them might result in (ingame) punishment.
3. Characters | Levels | Level upsCharacters are build from 3 choices:
- Race
- Class
- Mark of Heroism
I will not post the complete work right away but show an example of how it will work.
Player A decides to play an Elf and he should be the classic fighter. Race Elf: Player can choose 1 of the following elements . Class Fighter: Player can choose 1 of the following elements . Mark of heroism (Elf): From his birth mark an Elf can choose another element but not . Player A decides to build a deck pool from (Race) (Class) and being the element his fait decided for him. Now he knows his 3 starting elements and builds a cardpool....!!!!The following is still under construction!!!!
- Players get 150(?) points to buy cards, lifepoints and gear starter packs.
- Starting at Level 1
- Flaws and advantages to buy extra points / use spare points.
- Experience will be earned every day + points from fights or other outstanding actions.
- Level ups will have effects on upgrades and some might grant access to new elements.
- New cards will be unlocked by level ups, looting, rewards or obtained in shops.
4. Character creationStep 1: Race
There will be 5 playable races. Race(Choosable Elements)
Spoiler for Races:
Human (any 2)
Elves (
)
Dwarfs (
)
Seraph (
)
Lizardmen (
)
5. FightsI have high hopes in this community, just like I do not check every dice rolled in my RPG sessions. That being said, Fights vs. NPCs would be handled in the Tainer. Fight events are posted in the thread and include "Who is involved" and randomized brackets. After that Players will receive deck codes and a timer for their NPC and fight them BO-X*. Results are then posted and after all fights are done the battle will be finalized (Exp gain | HP loss | Loot found....)
*The casual NPC has 2 HP until told else so he will have to lose 2 matches before going down, so matches are done when a) NPC loses all HP b) Hero loses his last HP.
PVP might happen as well, depending on the actions of the players but there will be rules to secure nobody gets killed in one single attack. Major NPCs in the game might be played in PVP as well. This allows ingame tournaments as well.
6. Other informations- Every player will start unupped, gaining acces to upgrades by level ups, magic items and so on.
- Shards and Nymphs will be loot or familiars gainable ingame but not at the start.
- Rares will be more expensive than regular cards and limited to 2 at the start.
- Gear packages are not yet built and will most likely contain things like armor, weapons, potions, mounts...(open for suggestions)
- The main thread might be used for the roleplaying aspect while fix adventures would be created if people prefer to be a little railroaded or a combination of both.
There will be ingame
, used for equipment, new cards and so on.
Well I checked some of the other threads but the mechanics I had in mind seemed not to have been there but I am honest I did not check them all. So if this is already in use please let me know. As always feedback is welcome, took some work to this point to get some of the mechanics done but that I could live with. But creating a whole "universe" when there is no interest at all does not sound tempting to be honest.
