Hi im a muslim which means i am of the Islamic faith. and i just felt like i need to clear up some things (and also i need to get thirty posts hahah). anyways first of all just cause we are Muslim doesn't mean we hate the other religions. quite the contrary respect other religions a great deal and secondly we are not all terrorists -_-  and thirdly we do not believe in that 27 virgins in heaven crap.

Yeah, there is a lot of misconceptions about muslims. Most are actually quite friendly, it is just they get their bad reputation from radical ones.

The way you say it, you seem to think it is absurd.  Where did the rumour get started then? Do radical muslims actually believe it? That is a huge stereotype in my area of America, and I'm very curious now.

From what I gather, there was a segment where a very influential group of people were told this in order to earn their favor or distract them... or something. Somehow it got turned into something tossed about heavily on hearsay, and now most Western areas believe it's canon.

Turkey is possibly the most open minded islam country and i still call your statement BS. Sorry. No religion, let alone islam, respects other religions. In many arab countries if a muslim becomes a christian, he will get beheaded. Muslims call demeaning names to the members of other religions and think they are sort of heretics (to different levels, depending on the sect). Members of any religion hate other religions. They only supress their feelings & thoughts to look superior.

"27 virgins in heaven crap" ? (you mean 72 i think) Religious people mocking other insane beliefs always make my day. Well muslims believe they will intercourse virgin girls and boys in heaven and drink from fountains of wine (banned in islam) if they are deemed worthy. Almost all of them believe that. But then again, this is not a bad belief by itself. I'd love to do all of the people in the world -past,present and future- if i could.

That's true. They believe that because western society is as moron as eastern society plus more racist. I personally know thousands of muslims and not a single one of them will take a weapon in their hands to harm other people for religion.

Well the reason why muslims got so many bad rumors is because Islam is still used as a toll to control many people in different countries and many people think that many of the strict rules those countries has is a part of the religion which is not true. Same with christianity, you could argue that it was Christianity that killed heretic people back in the day but the truth is that it was the church who did and that are 2 very different things.

How do you reconcile your quote, above, with these quotes from the Qu'ran?  I'm not going to make the strong claim that Islam is the sole faith that preaches violence against heretics, non-believers, and apostates - but it does seem, based on its holy texts, to be one of the more overt about it.

Just because there are some ancient "holy texts" (in each religion) doesn't mean that people will follow them.
