Please leave feedback in this thread.

Some of the things that will be changed:

The 2013 WC will take place during its normal time (Oct-Dec 2013), as such, there won't be Trials/War/Brawl going on during this time.
The rounds will be predetermined and the rules will be very similar to 2012 WC.
No long gaps between rounds.

I definitely approve of the predetermined rulesets.  Something like an average of 2 weeks per round seems fairly good, and would roughly fit within the 3 month span.  Some variations will probably be necessary, as there are other factors, like the group rounds will take longer than individual rounds, for instance, plus we don't want someone losing a later round just because they didn't have adequate time to prepare.

I'm not sure what to suggest for some of the individual round rules, but something about them didn't quite sit right with me.  I can't quite put my finger on it, though.  If I can think of something more constructive to say than that, I'll be sure to mention it.  Part of it was that all of the rounds felt so similar to each other with the nearly identical mono/duo rules and so forth.

There was also some brief discussion in other threads and chat about the size of the prizes for this event.  I don't think that the prizes are too unreasonable; they seem large compared to leagues/tourneys, but then, I think that leagues should have bigger prizes than they do, and I think that other events should have some prizes as well, so I'd argue that other events should have increased prizes, rather than the world championship have decreased ones.

My feedback is limited to the prizes of WC:

They are too damn high. They are so much out of proportion that I have no clue what the initial idea was. It's supposed to be an 'epic' event, ok. Ignoring the fact that it wasn't, even if it was - why not just make the prizes 3/2/1 codes? It would still be the most rewarding event this forum has ever seen, almost a ridicule to competitors playing 100-200 BO3's in leagues to compete for 2/1/1 codes.

And as long as normal events don't give a single code for the winner, this really can't be. So, at the very least, reduce the prizes to 3/2/1 and let 6 events a year give a code to the winner, distributing the codes between competitors way more just.

/e: 7 even, not 6.

Name another event that you have to qualify for?

I don't see the relevance of that question.

The need to qualify doesn't justify the prizes. You can qualify rather easily (through way easier ways than winning an event), which is why I can't let the possibility to qualify by winning an event count as sufficient reward for the latter.

Do you actually think WC giving 6/4/2/1 and events giving nothing at all is more fair or good for the community than WC giving 3/2/1 and 7 events a year giving 1 respectively?

First of all, NOT my decision that events give no nymphs (they however don't 'give nothing').. you get an icon AND you qualify for the WC, so not nothing.
Secondly, I don't see the relevance of your post... (see how easy that is to say?)... however, the lack of relevance is your viewpoint, not the question.
Qualifying isn't the easiest, so the prizes will remain the same. Win it, and enjoy them.

i see there a relevance, cause the difference between nothing and 6/4/2/1 is gargantous! the question, why events give no reward as code is another, but as long as it is, the question for a smaler reward is simple and relevant!

for more feedback, never let an event start when rules are not complete! also every delay in events make trouble and let the audience be bored (participants too)... make it smooth and practicable, and dont need months...

Trials has qualifications (posts, score, and time on forums).
Tournies have qualifications (posts).
Now that the PvP Parasite system is back, all events have qualifications (No Parasites currently active).

Ultimate SHUT was to have the qualification of winning a SHUT...does this mean this event deserves outrageous prizes too?

Having qualifications doesn't really merit the large amount of codes this event receives.

The rules being decided after each round by a person who was playing is also dumb. Wasn't this delayed? The rules should have been formalized and sent to someone impartial before the entire event was started. Despite a new PvPO coming in mid-event, it still appears that reins never changed and the most Laxa ever had in this event was like 1 ruling and deck checking?

And the fact that the final can go nearly 2 weeks without having any sort of updates on the thread (and probably wouldn't have had if it hadn't been poked) is it's own issue entirely.

The prizes don't need to retroactively be changed. But they should be lowered for the next time this is run.
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

If it doesn't already exist (I didn't see one) how about a thread that includes people who qualify for the next WC, and add people as they are qualified.  That way, people can know who's in the running, as well as step up their own game if they see they haven't qualified yet.
