Something I'm really glad of here is that everyone realizes that punishments generally make the league less fun. I was a Magic the Gathering judge for many years so I can relate to this greatly.

Why not reward players who play a large number of games? Perhaps give a +2 rating boost for each game played over the course of the season at the end of the season. That way if players avoid matches or only play the minimum they could be overtaken by someone who played 200 games. It would also encourage all players to play a lot more and would get the league more play which is great!

The loss spamming issue would be fine because you lose some rating for every loss. You lose a game, get -9 rating, and then a +2 bonus. I think the only cap that's needed is that you can't gain rating from a loss. A -1 +2 situation. At that point it could be just a -1 +1 because their rating would probably be very very low when that happened.

Rewarding participation is a nice idea, but it has to be balanced carefully not to benefit mindless spamming of lost games so much that a person could win the League by losing too much...  :P

 Another detail que has already been discussed, about by encourage interest by duels, give icons awards for 4° -  6° places, may be a single icon lower with the description "top 6" ,I think to be in top 6, it is also very difficult.
 And I am in favor of an alternative league, where we can use cards upgraded limited, as in the event, the player can choose a card (except pillars and pendulums) and use them 6 upgraded, if no codes mark / nymph, can be only be icons awards, and also that it be free league where CL and BL players can be found.

I think there should be some sort of reward for playing lots of games, maybe something like 100+ gives you a small icon that says something like "Battle League Fighter" and getting 200+ gives you something like "Battle League General". Maybe not the exact icons, but something like that perhaps?

Sorry if this has been suggested before, but the search results show nothing like it. And I'm too lazy to look at every page.

Awards are quite hard to get and it should stay that way. The door prizes are already rewarding people that play regularly, I don't see a need for this.

There is no "small" award. An award is an achievement by itself, in my opinion it should say "Hey look at this guy, he's done something good, he's worth a good bit and he has some skills at something". Not "Hey this guy got enough luck to be 6th in CL" (which was a situation leagues ago)

Now that we have IRC, has anyone suggested having a separate room for League? From what I could see, the idea was only turned down because you couldn't have both the league chat and the normal chat open.
