I wouldn't have needed a great winning streak to catch up, only 1-2 more wins.
Depends on who you face, vs Nensuru you need 4 wins vs. Bunker or Blascksmith, yes 2 victories.

  I think that ELO is currently the best system we can use even though I would have benefited from a "bonus" for more games played.  ELO helps those who play more because beating a lower-ranked person still gives a sizable amount of rating.
Yes, ELO is considerably better than KRACH, I am fully in favor of bonus for anyone who plays more, had already suggested for the Jenkar in league 2/2012 and also something similar in this topic, see the answer of Pika. would be a bonus of +10 elo points for each 10 matches. however I have to agree that this is unfair for those who have little time to play or those who enter the league later. Then a maximum limit of matches should also be stipulated, I suggest 60.
  To be honest, I lost to Vangelios both because Vangelios played good decks and because I got arrogant.  He deserves the trophy he got.
Very grateful for the recognition, in fact you lost because of 3 final defeats matches, only then  believe you lost about 40 elo!!, ie you would have a score of ~1677.  If you had not played his last 3 games,
 But that does not take away my merit because I also had to overcome the same players that you've lost, and win of you too.
after I won Bunker I was sure it was the champion, and the game later against Annele I also put at risk my title, if I lost to Annele, I would lose ~ 15 elo.

 40 wins?, I think you meant 40 matches, if so, yes, it's a cool idea, provide bonuses to 40 matches after bonuses are disabled.
 And I really liked the idea of the Calindu, we can divide the BL/CL  in 4 parts

Candidates, top 3 (40 matches)
Candidates, top 6 (30 matches)
Not banned (20 matches)
Banned (-20 matches)

* Also consider each player has the right to ban 1 or 2 cards, this avoids metagames and abandon of some players. and in my opinion is the most interesting duel is to unpredictable because you do not know what your opponent will ban.

But I don't like unlimited PvP at all, because you're forced to play lame crap, and playing lame crap isn't fun (for me). If the other player agrees too, is it possible to play something like speedbuilding instead? But I guess it wouldn't be allowed to refuse challenges of players who want to play unlimited, is that correct?

Technically, all that can be enforced is specific card bans that are agreed upon by both players.  Actually, I'm sure that you will find people interested in speedbuilding.  Your last line is correct however and I would not advise you to join BL if you hate unlimited PvP.

Marsu, you're stance is exactly mine from early October 2012 when I joined BL.  I can say I really enjoyed the 3/2012 BL season even though my posts a little ways up in this topic may seem otherwise (negative feedback is always stronger and more expressable!).  As long as you are not simply hell-bent on winning winning winning at all costs and can absorb the losing "streaks" that come with 30+ PvP match type environments (without ragequitting and walking away), my guess is you'll enjoy BL.   8)

I think this idea is cool - the competition is for mark codes anyways - throwing around a little bling in the form of shards is cool

As someone who doesn't have 6 foil chimeras, I rather have the stuff dropped being the money from codes that aren't paired with shards and marks.
