General Discussion / Re: The most epic opening draw ever!

I can get this, too - in a deck with 35 Pillars/Pendulums and 1 Deflagration  :P
Considering there are only a total of 17 in this deck, I was naturally pretty stunned.  :-\

This game is Elements, not Magic the Gathering.
Whatever.  The names were changed to protect the innocent (from getting sued)... :))

Well, epic fail, that is...

13 lands in the first 14 cards, including an opening draw of 7 lands.

Gotta love it, sometimes.  *facepalm*

Yep - I added 2 Fahrenheits to the mix and have only lost 1 match so far this afternoon, to an Aether deck that never gave me anything I could antimatter.  Came up 20 short of killing him anyway.

Pardon the n00b question, but how does one have any control over which FG he faces?

Gotta pay attention to the strategy guide and understand who you're playing.

It's funny, i was going to barge in here this morning and raise hell about how terrible this deck was - until I realized I had forgotten the lightning bolts (doesn't seem like a big deal, but they really are)...

Tonight, I played 5 FGs - ditched two (on the ditch list), lost to Chaos Lord twice - both he got a Discord out on 2nd turn and just f***ed my whole world up - ironically I was land-hosed (pillar-hosed?) both times.  Finally played Destiny and beat her (got 2 rares out of the deal too) with a hungry hungry Otie and a set of Titan trucks - animated one, paralleled it twice, only had quints enough for two, so she reversed the 3rd, which I promptly dropped into my weapon slot and kicked her butt all over the field - and yes, I was eating fate eggs like they were going out of style.

I'm getting more comfortable with the deck, and feeling more confident each time out with it.  Mine also contains a pair of Electrocuters because I happened to have them kicking around anyway, so it's 36 instead of 34 - thinking about adding one more pendulum to balance it back out.

tl;dr version - Cool deck, bro.

Deck Help / Re: Fixable? Salvagable? Or just sell it and start over?

That's definitely an interesting way to go at it.  I was considering at least dumping the dragons for the gargoyles or the vamps just comparing the upgraded version of each card.  I'm not sure that I'd go for Dusk - but that could easily be 1 stiletto and 2 more steals or pests to reinforce the control aspect.

Much obliged - definitely gives me something to chew on.

I'm finding that, when it draws well, it can lock most decks down completely, except for the higher level decks get ridiculous bonus Quanta from thin air, which pretty much destroys that component of the deck (unless I can manage to knock out the second color).

It's slow, it grinds, and it's designed to survive the first few rounds while either developing a lock or going into overdrive with massive card advantage (stalling with Reverse Time and drawing down with the pendulums) - usual kill is actually one or more massive drain life.

But, as I mentioned, I can't beat FGs with it, and I'm erratic against L5's - so what should I do?

Oh - primary Quanta is Time - I found this works better than going Darkness and using the Time Pendulums or pillars.

Issue Archive / Re: Gravity Shield and Gravity Pull [unconfirmed]

seems logical that the creature would process before the shield - hence the gravity pull takes precedence over the shield.

Would it be possible for you to re-create the situation and take a screen capture/screenshot of it? Reproducing the bug would help the community in identifying it and zanz in fixing it a lot.
I'll certainly try, but it was a very unique set of circumstances - I've played against that deck probably 50-60 times and never had that specific combination of events happen.

Issue Archive / Vanishing drawn cards.... [Unconfirmed]
« on: April 03, 2011, 11:00:19 pm »
Note the bottom corner where an outline of a card appears - I am being forced to discard here, though I don't have access to the mysterious "8th card" - which was a Pest I drew 2nd turn that vanished as soon as it hit my hand.

I had creatures out (3 pests and a black dragon), but none were poisoned.

12
How many Antimattered creatures did you have? Was he at 100 HP?
1) None.  I was playing a death/time control deck - the only creatures in it are black dragons and devourers/pests.

2) He was well below 100 HP - in fact, he would have been dead at turn 6 had the walls not prevented the damage.
