Crank - Elements Style

All players are poisoned and fight for their survival on a daily basis until the last player can claim the antidote.

"You wake up in an unfamiliar place, your head feeling like you would be glad if it exploded right now and relief you from this agony. Looking around you realize other people near yourself, some just waking up, some already showing they obviously feel just as bad as you all look. The smell is overwhelming and you have no clue where you are and how you got here. When the last people seem to be awake you hear the noise of a speaker coming to life: Gentlemen, you all had a shot of poison injected that will slowly have your heart beat slower, eventually leading to a pretty painless and sudden death. However, you were handed 3 shots of Epinephrine, every one of it buying you a little time. While you are our guests you will have brawls to get more shots until one of you is left. Here are the rules....."


1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

There is no maximum amount of participants for this event. As long as sign ups are open everyone can get his poison injected.


2. GETTING READY

- You may use any non-upgraded cards in the game.
- You may also use upgraded cards depending on your HP.
- 10-6 HP= 6 upgrades | 5-3 HP= 3 upgrades | 2-1 HP= 1 upgrade
- Shards are banned for this event.



3. Gameplay
Everyone starts with 3 shots of Epinephrine in stock. You get codes for new shots or lose shots depending on the match results:

- Win 3-0  |+2 shots
- Win 3-1  |+1 shot
- Win 3-2  |+1 shot
- Lose 2-3 |-1 shot
- Lose 1-3 |-1 shot
- Lose 0-3 |-2 shots

If the modification brings a player to a negative total he loses additional HP equaly to that number that day.

During the event, there might be random effects happening as the story rolls on.



4. DUELS
As soon as sign ups are over there will be a chart with all players and the first timer will start. From that point you will be able to look for opponents from that chart via PM/Chat/ICQ/Skype/Facebook...whatever you want and can to get the chance for the next shot of Epinephrine.

Matches are best-of-five. The first player who wins 3 individual duels, wins the match.

You are allowed to change your deck (and mark) after every match.

It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.


5. AFTER DUELS
Winner and loser should post in the Battle Results thread, and include the info if they use one of their shots after the match if available.


6. WINNER
Winner will be the last player alive.


7. REWARDS
Not for me to decide!  ;)

Bravo on the format, I actually read this one, and nice job for being your first :D.

I don't think health is explained well enough, you say that you lose additional hp based on the day.  Is this the only way to lose hp? (I like the idea where early losses are forgiven though XD).  Also, why is it adrenaline codes? Should just be little adrenaline shots thematically.

Something in the wide sence of "cranked" theme can be used to make some restrictions... using adrenaline gives you x bonus, running posions increase your HP decrease and so on

@additional HP loss: 10 starting HP, -1 every day. That is the basis. Epinephrine shot giving +1 (single use), so it negates the -1/day. Additional Hp lost can only occure from duels. Let´s say A fights B, while B has no more stock of shots and looses 3-0 to A. 3-0 means A gets (a code for, I´ll get to that in a minute) +2 shots, and since B can not lose any more shots because he has none he looses 2 HP instead plus the one for the day (he can´t use any Epinephrine, cruel world isn´t it?  ;D) making a total loss of 3 HP that day.


@codes: I already feared this might be confusing, it is just a reference to the "story" of the event. Since the winner can not get shots from someone who has none anymore I would have (or will, if it comes to the event) added a dispenser in the scene, where you get a code for the win you can use to get shots from there. So it is only a term for the backstory to explain where the won shots come from for the winners.

Complete agreement on my side! To be honest I already had started to work something out, but putting this submission together took a decent ammount of time and I decided to leave it at that for now and maybe add something later on. Seems like I was right there should be some additional deck rules.

Just a little "Unknown facts about Zazu":  ;D Despite being used to the english language, the remaining barrier is the only thing that keeps me from such stories sometimes. I have been storyteller in so many RPGs for ~20 years now, so by now I should be able to sell a story at least a little bit.  ;)



Backing up the story, would this fit the deck building rules as one of the special rules?:

"After signing up players build a cardpool of (50?) cards from which they can build their decks. The cards from this pool are the only cards available for the player for this event!"

Coming from the thought of the players being locked in some sort of maze-like building, they can only use limited resources.

Option 1:  2. GETTING READY


"Ok, you have some time to prepare now! Look around, grab what you can get and await our further instructions!" As soon as the speaker goes silent, you see others look around and hurry to hoard stuff. You decide that it is a good idea to be faster and start searching!....

When the event starts everyone builds a cardpool of 60 cards. From this pool only, decks can be build during the event.



Option 2:  2. GETTING READY


"Ok, the door under this speaker leads you to a room where you will receive your arsenal and where you dump it once you are done for the day! This will be the first thing you check every morning." As soon as the speaker goes silent, you hear the door unlock and decide to check what your captors meant with "arsenal", still feeling dizzy and wondering what is going on and why!?

Every day when the timer starts, 4 randomly chosen elements will be posted from which every participant will build her/his deck/s.



Added a poll for the first 2 ideas, maybe option 3 will be added soon or more if there are suggestions. Special effects of cards, minor tweaks and banned cards coming soon as well.

This looks like a wonderful idea. And also, i like how inactive players just die out. Just a few adjustments.

After a few rounds, i would make it so that you lose morethan 1 hp per day, just so that the event ends someday, you know.

Other than that ...

Is a day a real day? or is a day in game a few days in real life to let time for people to play?

I like option 2 where its 4 random elements.

This sounds like a cool, short and simple event, in the style of TCOBO, but better, in my opinion.
