What's worse? Thread Necromancy or Thread Duplication?

Pretty simple question.

If I had the choice between making a topic that already exists or posting in a topic that's over a month old, what should I do?

Depends on the forum. Duplication clogs up databases. Do not want. If the topic's old, you can easily revive the discussion again by posting it in chat.

There's a limit, of course. On big forums, threads older than a month might be considered a necro and thus be against the rules. That makes sense since there are a ton of new discussions started every day. On here? Nah, just revive it.
