Neither are unbalanced. Weapons are supposed to be cost-effective, and if you want to focus on vampiric damage when unupped you'll usually go Dragons+LS. If upped, you just go Vampires since they're 6 just like the Dagger with Eclipse out, and the option of Animate Weapon+Daggers is there.
Stiletto is usually used in tandem with Dusk Mantle in a balanced monodarkness because they make for a strong combo, or in immorushes, but they're always only a support item. Never a card that makes a strategy and causes it to be OP.
Staff is somewhat weak, but is balanced thanks to Flying Weapon+Adrenaline.
As a sidenote, Stiletto used to do 2|4 damage long ago, iirc. It was justly buffed, as it was almost useless.
I would not advise people to make their first post in this board. It takes a lot of experience to make a good call, as this game has some depth.
