check out trials for some deck ideas.

The first deck is slow because the quanta production is not correct. Too much
- not enough to spend it on. Too little
and that is what you need. The solution is to add some life creatures in to use mitosis on as well. Also, 1 thorn carapace in any deck is useless. It is a slow shield and you need it early to be effective, that usually means putting 3 thorn carapace in a 30 card deck if you want to use them.
I like your darkness deck idea. Putting an black dragon is smart because you build up a lot of
from the devourers. I think it needs some tweaking and further testing though. Deck stability is important. Eclipse might be helpful too.
Here is my version (not tested so don't trust it!) not very good at EMing either but it is powerful once started.

Also, didn't test your earthquake deck but it looks good. I would just take out the hematite golem because they aren't that great unupped and just 1 in the vault is kind of a dead card. Better to take more life creatures OR graboids
One last thought. Single cards in a deck are very unlikely to be drawn when you need them. It works in rainbows sometimes but not much in monos and duos. Basically, in a 30 card deck you should probably have the card twice at least. Certain exception apply like the black dragon above because even if you get it last you should in theory still be alright. 2 black dragons might be better though i haven't tested.
Another exception is druidic staff - it basically functions as a shard of gratitude. Getting one late isn't that bad if you aren't counting on it for attack or heal. In other words 4 heals +1 druidic staff is fine. 1 druidic staff and no other healing - not a good idea (damn me i did that above)
Testing the deck in the trainer is the final word though, theories be damned.
