It's a decent deck that is pretty fast. Giant frog is the upgrade for horned frog. Giant frog is a 5/3 for 2 life. Very good imo. This is the list I have been using for awhile now. What do you guys think?

I've tried similar decks pre-upgrade and was not impressed; while you can get a lot of small creatures out fast, their un-upped damage output just isn't enough to kill most decks before they get their winning strategy into play. You're pretty vulnerable to creature control too, especially from repeatable sources; otyughs see all your frogs and cockatrices and yell "BUFFET TIME!" Ultimately I found that success hinged entirely on the dragons, and since every color has dragons I figured I'd be better off going for a color that has better abilities to contribute.

The upgrade for frogs is a very good one and might push it into competitive viability, but I don't have the firsthand experience to say for sure--most of the losses I racked up with mono-life before the upgrade pushed the enemy health low enough that I might have scored a kill with 5-damage frogs instead of 3, but those were against un-upgraded decks as well; similarly upgraded decks might have new answers for your new and improved frogs.

Bonus points for originality, to be sure--the life element doesn't get a lot of love, so it's always good to see someone eking some success out of it. I'm just not sure it's quite there yet in terms of the card available to it, though.

14 pillars
6 frogs
6 cockitrice
4 dragons
2 heals

thats the base :P
you can change the heals into emerald shield and druid staff.

upgrade pillar then frog, then pillar then frog... keeping a 1 to 1, the Damage will help you more first because this is alrdy a rush deck.

upgrading the dragons is optional
in a rush deck having them cost 12 and atack for 11 is bad... but the 9HP makes them more meat (TAKE THAT RAIN OF FIRE!)

I've always wondered this: Photosynthesis is 2:1 for energy, so if you've got upgrades can't you theoretically run any mono-life deck with light pillars and upgraded rustlers (keeping the mark of life) and actually end up with a more effective deck?

Yeah, you do have to get a leaf dragon (rustler) to start playing you real cards, but you could make due with fewer pillars and you can even use upgraded sundials for haste to even it out. You're weak to creature control anyway, might as well try making it faster?

The Life/Light deck has been posted on the Wiki already, and is usually run with Miracles and Heals, so that you can get Masteries on AI3. That deck has been around for a while.

If you're aiming for weenie-rush with Life, then change the Mark to Fire and run a few Firebolts/Fire Lances. Even if you don't have more than ten Fire Quanta, that three damage will save you against Elite Otys, since it'll bring them down to two health (too small to eat anything except chumps). I've actually seen a Life deck with Fire Mark and what-not in the Top 50 before. o-o

I'm thinking another way to run a life rush deck with some safety would be add death.

Mark of Life
8x Life Pillars
6x Frog
3x Empathic Bond
3x Cockatrice
9x Bone Pillars
3x Bone/Graveyard
3x Bone Wall
3x Improved Plague (adding critter control and more gy fodder).

Struggles with shields, weapons (esp eagle eye), poison, but it is certainly stronger vs otyughs.  Comes out at a relatively large 43 cards, probably too slow to setup to class as 'rush'.  Shame.  I really like these light/dark, life/death decks.
