Hey everyone, my name is Michael and my online name i'm sure you can tell is Xaoh.

I have been into computers and online gaming since I was 16, just turned 25. I have always loved TCGs' but never really dedicated myself to one in the past, just some minor magic here and there and some pokemon when I was very young, I have been home injured for about a month now and I was laying around bored and got a huge itch to play some TCGs'.

I guess that brings me to how I found this place, upon obtaining my itch to play some TCGs' I just began searching, and not landing on anything that felt right to me. Just searching online tcg in google doesn't produce very good results impo, i'm pretty sure I discovered Elements through a forum post somewhere online and I just followed their link. Since I started playing about a week ago I have tried other games and gone through maybe a dozen different online TCGs' and nothing even came close to the satisfaction this does, it sucked me in quick which is something because i'm the type that gets bored and moves on, endless ranting aside, I love this game!

Something else that made me decide this game was worthy of my time investment was this community, despite the what seems to be extremely low numbers of people in the IRC chat, I have been surprised by how active the forum community is as well as how many people are out there messing around with deck ideas and new cards etc... Also on clicking through the forums it seems like the creators have a very good active relationship with the users, this all sounds like something I want to have a long lasting part in.

So anyway, I am hoping to find some friends on here to play more of this awesome game with that can maybe teach me some tricks along the way. I run into random questions here and there while I am playing and it would be nice to have a place to go that will help me gain full understanding of this game.

Here are the few decks that I run right now based on what I have found online, I think some of them might be outdated but i'm not sure they seem to work ok.

Hello and welcome. I see you like aether and darkness. Have you tried devtal (devourer fractal)? It's a good way to annoy your opponent.
Hope you'll enjoy your stay.

EDIT: silly me, the third deck is devtal. Try streamlining it then for better effectiveness.

I agree that most decks should try to stick to 30 cards , especially codes that run 6 of something that you want to draw early . Running 6 Devourers in a Devtal list of 30 cards greatly increases your chance of starting with one . Also , try switching to Dark Pendulums in that deck . It'll save space and your Dev's can power your  :darkness needs .

Also hello and welcome to your new addiction .

Try streamlining it then for better effectiveness.

This is definitely something that I would like to do, I think that is the most fun of all my decks yet so I want to get it down so I can really enjoy it fully.

Also , try switching to Dark Pendulums in that deck . It'll save space and your Dev's can power your  :darkness needs .

I am still a little confused about how the Pendulums work, the way I am understanding it is that they essentially give me 2 quanta instead of 1 like I would get from a pillar. If this is the case I don't understand why everyone wouldn't use them as a substitute for pillars. I strongly feel like I don't understand this card though and that I am wrong in my assumption about its use.

Pendulum:
1. Generates quanta of its element in the first turn
2. Generates the quanta of your mark next turn.

Dark pendulum with aether mark will generate :darkness in a turn then generate :aether in the next before swinging back to darkness.

I have a small question about the forums and since i'm still a newbie to them I don't want to make a whole new post for it when I already have a post here declaring myself new and not well educated on the operation around here  :P

How do I put an avatar on my account? I'm seeing all sorts of cool ones from the game that I would like, is there  an option to pick my favorite card as my avatar somewhere? Can't find anything. Thanks.

You need a few posts for that. 20 or 50 (forgot) for an Elements card, 200 for any picture. There is also a thread called "Ask a simple question, get a simple answer" exactly or those kind of questions. :-)
