Hey guys.

Don't expect many people will take any time to read this but incase you do, Hi :)

I'm new to Elements, stumbled on the game by accident a couple of days ago when I was looking for something to do with my time off work. The games awesome, I used to play MTG (Magic the Gathering) competitively a while ago so I love the look of this game.

Apparently, according to the forums I run a Halfblood Farmer deck? Didn't realise I did until I found the forum but I'm guessing it's a pretty common newbie deck? I switched to this after trying to run Scarabs, Scarabs are fun but I didn't have any pharoahs so I was duo'ing it with death and just reverse timing my mummys. It was fun, won me a fair few games but I needed something more consistent.

No idea how to post my deck but the only difference with my "Halfblood Farmer" deck is I use 2 Lobotomizers and 3 Immortals, rather than (from what I've seen) 5 immortals. If anyone does read this, would this be a wise decision or not?

I'm hoping these tournaments and comps are fairly active as I'm ridiculously competitive and I'm fascinated with new deck ideas and how other peoples minds work when constructing. Well saying that, I'm hoping this forum is pretty active aswell as I'll be here a while if there's anyone still around lol.

Any hints, tips etc is more than appreciated, I'm currently just beating the level 4 AI's and playing PVP to get my Electrum count up so I can start playing properly  8)

Well that's me anyway. Hello  ;)

hello, very interressant introduction  :P I come from MTG too and I'm pretty addicted to the game since a year too. I guess you use monoaether to play vs half blood, so yes adding 2 lobo is a very good idea, they aren't in the nooby deck because they're rare and noob aren't supposed to have rare that's all but they are very good.

Also to post your deck you have to go in the game "your deck" section, then you will see on the left a button called import export deck, clic on this button and you'll see a code, copy paste this code and put this between the deck balise :
Code: [Select]
[deck author=naTuraL][/deck]Also for the event we have a lot of tourny, 2 every weeks (see the tournament section for more information), we also have a lot of pvp event, for example the sign up for budokan are currently open (check in pvp event section for more information). Ultimately you have to make 30 usefull posts before joining tourny because we don't want people to leave during a tourny..

Also I recommand you to play the league (see pvp league section) !

if you have any other question just ask here or PM me !

Welcome and enjoy your stay !

Ok sweet, pretty much answers everything. Good to see at least one MTG player but I'm guessing there will be more in the competitions and tournaments :D

The site seems pretty active aswell which is good to hear, just seems like a much cheaper version of MTG lol.

Is there an easy way to gain electrum? I'm guessing not, other than PVPs.

Also...would you recommend keeping hold of the cards I'm winning? I'm holding onto them at the moment because I don't want to be buying them again when I come to building a new deck, currently I'm only selling them if I have 6 or more of them, is this a good idea or do you guys sell then re-buy at a later time?

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61s 61s 61s 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61u 61u 61v 61v 61v 61v 8pu

That's my deck I'm using, just if anyone is interested. I don't really like boring decks but its just a way for me to win Electrum consistently.

Like I said, I didn't know I was duplicating another deck type but I'm guessing the old-schools guys will have a deck type for every combo going so sorry if I've "stolen" anyone else's idea  :(

Don't worry, that deck is so common that pretty much everybody knows about it.

Get ready to grind like you have no life for a while. For electrum your focus now should be to build a false god farmer, preferably instosis (untill someone makes a better deck). PvP is bad for electrum, because the take so long and only give around 100 :electrum. Just farm Ai3 until (I recommend you switch to a faster deck than mono aether) untill you can afford a cheap false god farmer like liquid antimatter, or save up 9000 :electrum for rol/hope, flay em, or limitless speed etc.

I wouldn't worry about selling cards if you need the money to make a farming deck since the sooner you get to a false god farmer, the sooner you can buy back any cards you sold.

I started about 1.5 months ago and used liquid antimatter, then eventually instosis, now I am level 60 in the platinum league with 6 copies of nearly every rare and like ~300 upped cards.

This is a useful thread: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,28742.0.html (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,28742.0.html)
But I woudln't follow it's advice about needing to get rol/hope though. There are other options which may be more cost effective in the long run so you need to do some research and decide yourself which farmer to get. For example, rol/hope uses upped rays of light, which are very difficult to reuse in any other deck a newbie might consider building, while liquid antimatter has a lower win rate but does not use upped cards at all. Test each deck you are considering in the trainer before buying it to avoid wasting money.

No idea what "instosis" is but I'm guessing if I search it, it will give me a better idea, same for Liquid Antimatter.

I appreciate the advise though, it's good to see people actually helping newbies like myself so thanks  :D

I can beat AI4's with this deck aswell, is the AI4 worth playing or just stick to AI3? I tried to think I was the boss the other day and went to fight a False God...It didn't go well  :'(
I'll keep slugging it out for now with AI3 unless you recommend AI4 and see where I get to.

Thanks again

Also, to anyone...

What would you upgrade first? I'm currently just bashing until I hit E1500 and then upgrading pillars as I'm always going to need them, in any deck created. Is this what everyone is doing or do you recommend another approach?

instosis (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,32309.0.html) stand here, you just need to uppgarde the supernovas and the dragon, then I advise you to go for a full uppgraded deck.

liquid antimatter (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,11074.0.html) should be your first FG farmer, you'll win few upped cards with this deck.

My advice for now is to use LA (liquid antimatter) and to kill the FG the oracle predicted for you to win some upped cards. Then sell them to get money to uppgrade 6 Supernova, One devonian dragon, and the electrum hourglass if possible and go farm FG with instosis. Don't sell cards then, unless you have 12 of them, because some pvp event requires you to play unupped cards, so you need to have every rare cards upped and unupped (as you can't downgrade cards if you have more than 6 upped you can sell them).
Also with LA you'll loose a lot of score and a lot games but don't worry, it'll get better soon, your aim is just to win enough upped cards to make money and build instosis.

I also advise you to come in chat (https://cbe003.chat.mibbit.com/?server=irc.chatspike.net&channel=%23elementsthegame&nick=)
