Figured I'd register since I've been playing the game a fair bit and could get some help.

I basically read the forums and farmed to get Fahrenheit so I could make the fireball deck.  Turns out it doesn't work on FGs like it says but still got me some money.  Used that money to build the RoL/Hope deck and had terrible luck on FGs so I scrapped it and went back to farming HBs for money.  Tried building the RoL deck again and figured I'd try arena.  Been doing really nice in Platinum league with it and have gotten up to rank 14 with some new money.  Today however I was getting beat by all the poison/momentum decks so figured I'd try FGs and have had a great streak.  About 8 wins out of 12 or so but only 3 upped cards. :(

Anyway, can anyone give me some hints on if I should upgrade the deck below further and if it'll increase my win rate significantly?  If not I won't bother (Ex: Upgrading fractal and Lobo aren't that helpful in the games I've played to where they would make a difference).  Or, is there a better deck that would work for me?  I've been trying to get some pulverizers  but had no luck.  Is the best place to farm those in arena?

I'll do arena or FGs but seems like FGs are a better place to get cards whereas arena is a better place to get money.

And just to give everyone a wonderful laugh, I managed to get EM with 1/1 hp in platinum today.  See below.  I thought it was great.

Welcome to the forums! :) Glad to hear you've been having some success. And yes, Arena is the best place to farm rares. Bronze league especially, but if you have a deck that can beat Platinum, then go for it!

Btw, upping your Aether Towers/Pendulums should help quite a bit, but Fractal and Lobo don't change much upgraded.

Honestly the saving of 1  :aether doesn't seem to be that big a deal from what I've seen.  Now if only it let you use it multiple times a turn..that would be worth it.  Can you explain your reasoning?  I generally never have quanta issues in a game that is close.  I don't think it would have ever been the difference between a win and a loss.

Just that some FG forces you to use a lot of lobo (fire queen, osiris.. for example) in those game using only one quanta to lobo helps a lot. while uppgrading fractal isn't that good, just one less quanta.. still playing uppgraded pillar and pends help a lot !

So far I'm having amazing luck (just not with the cards...) but have gotten about an 80% win rate today against FGs.  My question is, should I bother upping the pillars/pends or should I try and get started on a deck that would consistently fair better in either arena or farming FGs?

My personnal advice is to uppgrade pillar and pend and keep farming FG with a fully upped RoL/hope deck. That's the fastest way to win upped cards.
Then you'll quickly win lot of upped cards and beeing able to build the decks you want for farming arena.

I'm not entirely sure about that actually. It's great for a first FG deck no doubt, but aren't there better farmers out there? Fast Draw Ghostal works wonders and is the best (tested) FG farmer made so far, though it takes a little know-how to run it effectively. If you want a deck that you can run totally unupped and win consistently, Flay 'Em! is a favorite of mine. ('Twas my first FG deck, I actually kept it for ages and upped it fully, but then I sold it for cash. I honestly regret it.)

Fast Draw Ghostal - http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,30623.0.html (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,30623.0.html)
Flay 'Em! -http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,20228.0.html (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,20228.0.html)

It might be better to just stick with what you've got for now though, but if you ever get bored, giving either of those two decks a shot would be worth it. :) Welcome to the community mate.

I agree with you : changing deck while farming is a good idea. I recommanded RoL/hope because it's simply way quicker than fast draw or flay them, good draws allows you to win in less than 10 turns vs FG (7 turn for my record) while the other decks needs most of the time at least 20 turn to win. Still they are pretty good choice.

So I've been playing in Plat and I'm curious.  Do the decks made their not have to follow the rules of the game?  I've seen people running 8 copies of a card (and no, they didn't fractal it or copy it).  Just played a death deck who had 8 pests up.  Saw another similar deck where my RoL's got drain lifed 8 times as well.  Do they have a higher card limit in the plat league?

No deck in the arena has more than 6 of one card in it (less pillars/pendulums, obviously).  However, if they have double dexterity, a 35-card deck becomes a 70-card deck; thus, Arena decks, when you face them, can have up to twelve of one card in their deck, much like False Gods. :)

For example, lets say you created an Arena deck that had 5 Heals in it when you create it.  If you did NOT give yourself double dexterity, your Arena deck would only have those 5 Heals in it.  However, if you gave yourself double dexterity, your Arena deck would now have 10 Heals in it.

^ That. It's also important to note that with dexterity, the deck draws 2 cards per turn.

Basically, if your platinum deck has every skill maxed out, you have all the abilities of a false god. 200 health, x3 mark, double drawing, and the ability to have a fully upgraded deck.
