not quite sure how to put this, but the association i made with spirit/light/aether i also make with existing elements like fire/water/air, life/time/death and some others, not sure if that makes sense or not to anyone else but me, /shrug.

BS and OT made some good classification models, aswell as some other people.
If we are going to decide the 13th element, it's important to know the appropriate classification for it, especially with the elements that we are considering: essence, spirit or mind, being mostly different to other existing elements.

Zanz's first classification of the elements.

I do not pretend to understand this diagram in full. (unlike my graphical representation of BS's classification)
What I do understand:
There are 6 pairs:  :aether :time  :air :earth  :darkness :light  :death :life  :entropy :gravity  :fire :water
The material elements form a cycle:
      :earth :water :air :fire
Each of the remaining 4 pairs is associated in some manner with a material paraelemental location.
      :earth :water      :life :death
      :water :air      :aether :time
      :air :fire      :light :darkness
      :fire :earth      :entropy :gravity

This makes me believe that there might be room for 4 more elements in between the spiritual and cardinal pairs in the outer ring. I would Mind at the bottom or left sides of the outer ring.

given that classifications are entirely subjective and there is a ton of existing confounding overlap between existing elements, i really wouldnt worry about this too much.  spirit/mind/essense feels like a distinct element to me, and thats good enough for me.

For me Mind would evolve a greater amount of Zone manipulation. (Deck, Hand, Field) Other elements do this some, but I think it would be Minds Primary Job. This is just my first thoughts on this.

Indeed. The poll was to identify what the center of the discussion will be. Alternate costs are a useful new mechanic and some might fit in mind.

Perhaps a form of specific mutation in the form of a creature card that requires a creature to be sacrificed to cast it?
Possibly a card that has a self mill cost?
However I think discussions of such mechanics would be better after we identify how one would Fight with Mind.

my idea of mind would be telekinesis and turning thoughts into matter (forget the term for that), this is where creatures could come from, as well as creatures which are thought to live inside a persons mind.

personally i only voted for mind as it has its own quanta pool, a necessity in my mind (no pun intended), but spirit would have been a better theme to go with.

I already explained my opinion of mind.

Mind can manipulate the 3 bio-rhythm aspects: psychology, emotions and physical status.

I see mind using stat lowering effects and cloaking/phasing techniques (not the same as  :darkness, more illusive rather than ocultive), also I see them being able to attack quanta pools like devourer, but no absorption effects, only attacking.

Emotions and/or Psychology could = new status effects such as one of my ideas for it, Beserk: Everytime creature attacks, It gains +1/-1.
or Fear: 40% chance creature doesn't attack and gains +0/-2.

Physical status = stasis/stall effects, damage chain ex: every point of damage this creatures receives, all opponent's creatures receive half the damage (rounded up), or things such as hp sacrifice could count as physical effects aswell.
Etc.

I see mind doing such things, slightly or mostly different to other element's strategies.
