Project: The 13th Element

Are you brainstorming or suggesting?
Are these all intended as costing a 13th kind of quanta?

Yes. All the void series needs is comprehensive playtesting.
This Project is in some ways meant to be the sequel and a means for suggesting new elements 
until Zana gives us more information on that topic.

Please voice your opinion on what elements we should pursue above.
It is just a survey so far as we await more members joining the Idea Factory. It will not be the final poll.

i think combining spirit and the unnamed theme, along with adding its own quanta, would be a good way to go.  not everything has to be a sacrifice, but it could be prevalent.

In my opinion, if we are to make a 13th element, it should be Mind. Currently psychic abilities are not tied to any element in particular. If we are to make an opposite to Mind, it should be Tech, which is mindless and artificial, focusing on sci-fi themes and future technology.

And what are those on the poll? Phosphorus? Imagination? Humanity? Heart? Really, guys?

Perhaps it would be wise to state why these ideas are bad for an Element - Oldtrees apparently didn't see anything wrong with them since they're on the poll.

Why do those not make good elements? Well, think about what an element is. It is a fundamental building block of existence. It must be able to stand alone by itself. Now, is "phosphorus" like that?

Also, Mind and Tech. Objections?

I included any and all idea posted at the time.

I will add mind to the list (tech is represented by machinery IMO)

@ZBlader May I fold spirit inside of Sacrifice?

Psionic is inside Mind Flayer as Aether. Mind is more general and might justify the separation from Aether.

My reactions to each proposed element
Sacrifice: I am biased but it is mechanically very unique similar to the path that Void took. It is easily convertible to Other cards for the Crucible and implementation in the game IF Zanz does not like additional elements.
Spirit: I think that mechanically it would be a subset of Sacrifice but with a defined theme. Combining the two and determining if Spirit's theme needs to expand seems the way to go.
Machinery/Tech: Could easily be converted into Gravity for the Crucible/game IF Zanz does not like additional elements.
Abstraction/Language/Runes: Things are not made up of runes, language nor ideas
Phosphorous: I have no idea what this one would imply but I would classify it as 0-1 cards in Earth not a full element.
Imagination: This feels like a different word for Mind below
Humanity: As I said in a recent thread. Races should be limited to 3 cards each with few exceptions. Humans do not qualify IMO.
Divinity: Bloodshadow has started on one with this name. For the purposes of the project starting at the beginning is desired.
Heart: I do not know which version of heart was suggested but Blood fits inside Sacrifice and Heart from  Heart was not an element.
Synergy: Synergy is when 2 cards work together, it is a theme of Water not an Element
Mind: Could easily be converted into Aether for the Crucible/game IF Zanz does not like additional elements.

Go ahead and merge spirit and sacrifice if needed.  I think Soul/Essence/Spirit are all good names for the resulting element.

My nomination is also the Sacrifice + Spirit element.
