Oh the 616 thing.
Ok, here is the deal to anyone who doesn't know...
So in Hebrew, all the letters had a numeric value and so was used for numerology and symbolism with in the language as well. Hebrew is a neat language to learn if anyone wants to. Well the early Christians carried on this tradition and would Mark a person they were fighting and translate someone's name to numbers in order to do a simple code. The oldest mark found to date is 616 in others it was 666. Now the question is, was the mark changed as a mistranslation, for propaganda, or was the mark changed because whom they were fighting changed. This we do not know for certain. Regardless, revelations was a propaganda work of it's time, and has little to do with a world wide Apocalypse ending all life as we know it.
