definitely not a bad idea. We currently have 22 pillars of which earth stall uses 13 and our mono uses 14. So all depends on how we want to mess with our quanta.
Given the likelihood of pestal in at least one of the matchups, it may not be right to salvage wings, but at least we have some luxury to test.  The event card next round may be useful as well ... hopefully reinforcements???  (more spiders = win!)

Since we converted the dim shields and lightnings last round, we actually have some wiggle room to salvage something from this pile o crap.  We will probably be playing our full 72 cards from vault next round, though, so if we don't salvage, we will max convert.

Anyways, we should consider salvaging wings + OE.

Seems like you'd be better off with 5 RoL and 4 Leaf Dragon, yes?
Well, it is pretty important to get out entropy pillars / pends a.s.a.p., and RoLs interfere with the auto-mulligan.  I'll test more, but perhaps 5 leaf dragon / 4 RoL better yet.

I was bored grinding the other day and started fiddling to build the most efficient mutation deck I could.  I searched the forum and didn't find anything exactly like this, so I thought I would post what I came up with:
  • Fallen druid:  mutate things, mutation fodder eventually
  • RoL:  mutation fodder, generate :light for Leaf Dragons to convert to :life
  • Leaf dragon: mutation fodder, used with RoL and supernovas to convert :light to :life to fuel druid mutation ability
  • Supernova:  allow for first turn leaf dragons, provide :light / :life to fuel mutation process, fuel mutant abilities

This does surprisingly well vs all AI levels, although lack of defense can be problematic vs AI5.

Enjoy!

I expected poison bolt and prepared a counter (see game 2), but didn't want to risk playing that in the first game, so I went with poison bolt.  This was close to a mirror match.  I won the toss, I got lots of fire quanta, but he gots lots of poisons.  I could have won on the last turn if I had top-decked a firebolt, but alas.

This time I brought my counter deck, EQ'd his pillars, purified his poison, poisoned him (sadly he had purifies too), and exploded him with my bad gas.

I assumed he would change tactics and meant to change away from my counter, but I must have just imported the same deck code.  Lost pretty quickly to azure dragons, purify, nova (and presumably sky blitz).

This one confused the heck out of me.  I have no clue what he had except for a lot of fire quanta.  He had 129 :fire quanta and 4 cards in hand and somehow I bolted him first.

Lots and lots of fire in this game.  My first 14 cards were pillars / pends, last 3 were fire bolts for the kill.  I thought I would die earlier, but he must have had dead novas/purifies in hand.

I made a pestal counter.  I started with the idea of running lightning off the mark but dismissed it; pestal will eat up the aether.  Then I moved to EQ rush but that was maybe 50/50 (I went 2/1 with A vs B and then 2/1 with B vs A against stupid trainer AI).  I ended up with this:

I played the pestal and the stupid AI beat me 3-0.  Encouraging!  :)

I wish I could help more but I really need to log off for the night.  Sorry guys and good luck with your decision making, blonde.
I just tried out pestal vs mono death and got my face rushed in ... trainer AI beat me 5-0, so I think this looks good.

Here is how the mono death trainer AI3 did vs me playing the following decks:

:aether DeckW-LNotes
pestal5-0strong favorite
poison bolt6-1strong favorite
mono aether2-4underdog, but they need to chain dim shields
aether grabow (dim)3-5likely an underdog here (35-40%)
aether grabow (PU)3-5underdog (~ 35%)
earth duo *6-0strong favorite, unlikely opponent

aether possibly still has these cards ... there is a faint possibility they will try EQs to stop earth stall.  If so, they will likely fail.

It's clear that the player with more Elements they can use is going to have an advantage. More often than not, the players from the Independent conference will have this advantage.

The Major conference will play 3.67 elements on average and cause their opponent to only use 83% of their elements.
The Mid-major conference will play 4.5 elements on average and cause their opponents to only use 92% of their elements.
The Independent conference will play 5.33 elements on average; their opponent's elements will be unaffected.

The players with less score will have a big advantage. I find this a problem.
OP is updated ... should be a lot more balanced now.  Majors get 2 elements and more control of their / opponent's elements, while independents get 3 elements but less control.  Mid-majors fall somewhere in the middle (~2.5 elements and less bans than majors).

p.s.  I believe OP should say that mid-majors get 2 bans instead of 3.

The obvious choice is to attack him!
I assume you meant attack ddevans - I second that.
