Well i pulled 5 out of 6 poisons early and it really was just too much (13 poison counters in the first 5 or 6 turns). Evaria threw up a dim shield followed by a wings but i dropped a dragon and the one hit was enough along with the one hit from my recluse.

RNG definitely played a role here but i think the decks are probably pretty close.

We played the full 3 games for poops and giggles and ended up winning 2-1 with the game i lost by 1 freakin HP.

GG's Evaria and that was fun!

Even with two Dials hastening, RNG is a demanding mistress. Oh well, all in all a nice loss for many reasons.

I just wonder why this weak stall, when you got 2 purifies, and probably could rush :death over.
Also wondering about death's strategy with the double decks.  Isn't a single deck better?

Well, seeing the situation, if I was Aether I'd play something rather weak, using Vault scraps, against practically everyone this round.

The reasoning is simple: they are strongly in the lead, their opponents have very limited Vaults that they very likely don't know all about, and the Event sucks for the leading team - less deckbuilding advantage. So I'd go scouting with some sacrificable decks, in order to learn what to expect and prepare accordingly in the ensuing rounds. By losing 30 cards from that deck, Aether's power is only slightly touched, and Death either chooses no salvages - thus Aether has gained information on their Vault without strengthening them - or they choose to salvage, stretching their Vault pretty much to oblivion. It's a win-win situation for Aether.

Of course, I wouldn't send complete suicides, and this is a pretty decent deck against death (the amount of shields is ridicolous, Dragons are few later in War, and Death's PC is gone, plus Purify saves them from Poison). But yeah, I think I can see why Aether chose such a strategy.

Nope. We believe that we can win both games next round. We will go out not trying to outlast but to win this event. The best way to do it (in our minds) is to take this salvage and fight them twice next round. And about just rushing us over.... well... easier said then done. Finishing in 5th is irrelevant to me (or the team) at this point.   ;D

My guess... they were expecting a complete other deck and were hoping to deck us out. Which wasn't a bad idea. Also i think you have a few wrong assumptions. They are not so strongly in the lead that they are indestructible. With these two losses and with another possible loss coming they are starting to bleed essential cards. Sacrificing decks would be a bad idea because no matter what you are still losing 30 cards for information that they basically already have. I have no doubt they have a good idea of what we have left. We have 72 cards in our vault, and i can tell you we are definitely not stretched to oblivion. We will be making 2 strong decks for Aether to face and i expect to see there 2 best decks.

This is about what I would expect to hear from team death.  If you have two strong decks, play them and make aether play more decks.  If you are going for the win, all that having to field two decks does is eliminate a very large super stall.  At this point in vault size it takes 2 losses to get knocked out.  Whether those two losses come from one round or two rounds is fairly irrelevant.  I'm also sure death would have regretted missing out on that salvage.  There are a variety of different cards in there that have good synergy with a variety of death decks.

Interestingly, if UW wins their match, Fire will receive a bye next round.

yeah lots of fun stuff hanging out in this salvage. I mean... purifies, novas, wings, dims, fractals? All very nice cards.

And Zeru, yeah i already calculated that... was talking to SS earlier today after we won and was wondering aloud if it wouldn't be better for Aether to win vs UW and have to field 5 decks next round instead of 4.
