Rainbow Decks / Re: Immortal Mutants (=mad tech deck)
« on: May 12, 2010, 12:26:47 pm »
Do you have like 100k electrum lying around so you just go make big deck once everyday? Or are you posting trainer concepts play like 10 games and say this deck is awesome? Just a thought as I would love some stats...
I don't use trainer, I have enough cards. If you look at my earlier decks you find mostly same cards. Where I say "this deck is awesome"? I don't say anything like that. I make statistics later. Mostly I play with pharaoh deck but this one is just fun for a change.

Maybe I just make too many decks... :/

Why use graveyards or ffq when you can have alfatoxin? Alfatoxin = free creatures for mutants. You may think what if there is fire wall or firestorm, what to do? (and I don't have BE'd creature at this point) All cells die or depend on situation I can do this: alfatoxin -> RoL, Otyugh eat that toxicated RoL so I have one cell there, just rewind it to deck and when I can remove fire wall I play that cell and anubis helps there: quinted cell is nice. So I have solid "creature factory" right there. Zero cost and lots nice cells. If any mutant get killed it turn back to cell. Best mutants get immortality status of course. Against morte you need that rewind trick if you don't already have quinted cell there.

Game below is played with slightly different deck, I switched one hourglass to leaf dragon after few games. So having life quantum is less depend on actual life output from 3 quantum towers. Destiny rewinded one mutant just before when I take this picture (explains why there is one chrysaora in my hand).

Deck Help / Re: Pillarless Immolation Deck. Improvements?
« on: May 12, 2010, 07:59:10 am »
This is my other deck which I grind AI3 with and its turning out incredibly well, only prob. is that it loses to shields. The idea is not mine I copied the deck of someone on youtube.
The deck:
Code: [Select]
4vh 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 55u 590 5c1 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5fa 5fa 5fa 5fa 5fa 5fa 5if 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 61q
In about an hour am gonna have enough money to upgrade my first card for this deck...What should it be?
My suggest:

1. Immolation -> Cremation
2. Lava Golem -> Lava Destroyer

And don't upgrade nova/photon cards - you don't want that :D

Well, Cisco said you only need 60% to put it on here.  His was 70%.  Anything 50+ deserves to be posted though.  You do have a good point with the human factor.  I, being non-1337, can probably not play these decks and get anything better that a 10% win rate.  So far I've only been farming AI3's.
Oops, my mistake :)

Yep, faming AI3 is good option, when you have upped towers and few other most important cards upped it's time to play against FG's. PuppyChows deck is quite good (tested it, but it's not for me, at this point I have about 250 upped cards, so I can make almost any anti-fg deck around here) and one as good (I think) is that Butterfly Angel. Few hard fg's (divine glory, eternal phoenix, octane) are little harder for those two decks if you compare it to my pharaoh deck - but overall my pharao deck don't win games so often (as you can see, there is quite lot losses against relatively easy fg's like ferox, fire queen and neptune).

For me 'right tools against every fg' is my approach, so my deck is never optimized against few relatively easy fg's. Still winning much games via easy fights against fg's without permanent control is one option: you gain cards/electrum - it doesn't really matter if you quit half of your games if your win rate against beatable fg's (for your deck) is like >85%.

This one is "easy-to-use -deck", just one option for less experienced players. Decking out is not real issue with this deck and there is also reasonable amount that so called 'defensive stuff'. Basicly this deck contains all really needed anti-fg things. Rewind all too scary cards, fill fg's side with cells, antimatter 2 heavy hitters, eat some critters with otyugh, other for butterfly so you can destroy annoying permanents. Against Octane/Decay use Jade Shield (or just when you don't have Fog or Permafrost shield in hand). Maybe one more hourglass is good idea (-1 quantum tower, +1 electrum hourglass).

I am not sure how good yours is running for you, but looks like you still need some work

Anyway, this is a good rewind deck
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,4148.0.html

Just to give you some ideas...
Thanks for the link. Yep, my deck is like bag of flaws compared to deck under link. Phase shield spam is very simple/effective against many FG:s, but deck don't have any real damage dealers. If you rewind all (rewindable) FG's cards back to the deck... game last forever against ferox or miracle x) And it's same issue with my deck (mostly because there isn't any permanent control).

EDIT: I didn't realized TU's so, deck have heavy hitters :)

Only 2 damage dealers? And fighting a 200 HP AI? LOL, this deck is way bad.
2? There is only one for that. 2 animated eternities don't do that much damage :)

70% win rate needed for post an anti-fg deck? I just don't believe there are any 70% win rate deck around here. Reason for that is simple: there is enough hard false god's to drop win rate under 70%. Personally I think that all statistics give always little amount of false information. I mean 'human factor', we make stupid errors sometimes when playing elements. I give few examples from my own games: while playing I take a break and get some food from kitchen, when I come back computer's screensaver is running AND I forgot situation when I was playing, so I press spacebar (shut down screensaver) => instantly deck out happen. Once I rewinded my own flying eternity with another (in hand), and so on.. it's just "damn, what I'm doing?". After game you write down that embarrasing loss and nobody ever think what story is behind actual numbers / FG. Somebody else have better win rate with same deck, what say something about that 'human factor'.

I remember at least 3 games where I made something so stupid that my game ended accidentally. In this case it don't matter so much, but my point is: we usually think that numbers give us objective information about deck's effectiveness and sametime we can read about less experienced players frustration (ex. there isn't enough time quantum and I deck out too often - or something like that) or players don't always understand how "single sided" deck can be (ex. mono-aether; wins 'easy enough' FG's and also loses many).

My statistics so far (pharoh deck):

...win-lose...
Ferox 2-1
Neptune 2-2
Osiris 0-2
Seism 3-2
Fire Queen 2-1
Obliterator 3-2
Destiny 2-0
Miracle 1-1
Decay 0-1
Rainbow 0-3
Morte 2-2
Dream Catcher 0-3
Incarnate 4-0
Octane 2-2
Gemini 1-0
Eternal Phoenix 3-0
Hermes 0-3
Divine Glory 1-4
Elidris 1-1
Chaos Lord 1-2
Scorpio 2-0
Dark Matter 0-1

win 31/62 total

As you can see, win rate is 50% and there is at least 3x faux pas. So I'm sure that somebody can play this better, more accurately and in long run, it will show in win rate-% too.  Sorry, but I'm "little" sceptical and think that we have no idea behind numbers :)

ah, the deck:

I had tried out a variation of this idea maybe 2 months ago. Yes it can beat several FG-s. But there is some problems with this idea:
- if the FG has hourglasses,
- this deck is very-very slow
- no permanent control ( Fire shield eat your flying Eternitys )
This is not a bad idea, worth it to experience with this, i had with my variation about 30-35 % win percentage.
Fire shield is not real (bad) issue when you have one eternity (w/ PA) in hand - game just don't go usual way. Jade shield is there as secondary shield (and against decay/octane it's of course primary).

Deck's speed depend how early/how long you can use hourglasses. Combos make it slow (unstoppable+quint/animate weapon+quint) - in this form, it's as fast as possible? Another option is "pure" time deck, with turtle shields, but I don't think it's good idea.

This deck is under testing. Few things came to my mind when I played with my pharao deck. What if you can rewind 2 FG cards even same turn you rewind own card to avoid decking out? That Lock is very powerful trick, why don't "maximize" it? No more than needed, so you have something other there, like lava destroyer (with unstoppable and quintessence of course) So you have pretty good creature (and permanent) control because FG is mostly freezed. Real trick is have all things in place early enough. I'm sure there is more experienced players, so you can tell if this concept is just awful/bad x)

Adding cards like antimatters or something else may be good idea, but how large deck can be without losing that sweet early-eternity-effect ?

Now, these statistics look closer to mine, so I guess everything is on the right way :D
Yep, going to right direction with this one :) (finally)

Quote
Now that I think of it, Jade shield is not really that bad if you play it in conjunction with antimatter. The latter takes care of big hitters, so I guess it makes sense... but it's still :life heavy.
You just underestimate that Jade shield, it's one of the best in own way. Deck is not too  :life heavy, if I play against decay or octane I don't need that bond. One SoG + PA do the trick, when Jade shield is in play (and 2 antimattered flying eagle eye's  :P ).

Quote
One thing I've not yet tried in a pharaoh deck is flying eternity, but now that I think of it, it should be the next thing I'll try.
Played so many games with flying eternity and it's one of the most useful things in heavy time -deck. Basicly you can drop FG "to knees" for many turns. Just hit the break and don't use hourglasses, just collect huge quantum resources and laugh when FG is virtually helpless, 2x rewind / every turn is mean.

Quote
I'm also going to have a go at 60 cards, because I guess even my 50 card decks are very inconsistent in that loses are caused by not enough quantum pillars or cards not matching the pillars drawn, so I guess going 60 cards (by using both supernovas and quantum towers) might in fact help.
60 cards sounds too fatty, but maybe you can make it, just let me know how it goes.

Quote
Flying eternity pretty much means I'll have to go back to using anubis... heh... I just think there is still quite a lot we can improve in pharaoh decks.
Think Elite Anubis as valuable asset, it's like ultimate bodyguard for all active things in your deck. If you can't play Anubis in time heavy deck, where you can use it?

Pharao deck rocks, kick asses, and other things like that - hype hype hype, don't believe the hype :)
