General Discussion / Re: Spin to Win?
« on: October 06, 2010, 03:24:56 pm »
Meh, unless I am spinning agasint FGs (even then, it's still "meh" for me) I just spin and move on. I only care about what I won when either I feel like upgrading or I hit the stoopid 3000 card limit and have to sell. Otherwise, I just keep a max of 12 copies per card and sell the rest when need be.

To be honest, for all those that grind, having more steps in the spinning process just makes grinding more annoying. I think maybe removing the single spin button is somewhat viable since I don't know of, or never heard of, anyone actually using the button often, if at all. The way the "spin all" button works right now is fine as far as I am concerned.

Short answer- Never.

Slighty longer answer- No, because every card in the game is obtainable through time and effort. Want a card? play more T50/AI3/FGs. Given time, you'll get what you need.

General Discussion / Re: Second Upgrade: Updated
« on: October 06, 2010, 01:26:14 pm »
I am a staunch believer that the best way to keep this game going forward is to create and add new cards rather than upgrade existing ones. In this way, everyone will have access to them unilaterally and the metagame becomes more complex and interesting. Adding a buff'ing ability to cards that is either ultra hard to get or something from PvP tourney's will only make the rich richer and the poor poorer.

General Discussion / Re: Inverted Elements Art
« on: October 06, 2010, 01:17:55 pm »
Personally, I thought the inverting was rather interesting and creative. (I really liked the :aether , :entropy and :light )   :P

I know this is somewhere between very unlikely to never happening, but it would be cool to see your mark in game get "distorted" based on the deck make up you are currntly playing.

For example, if you were using a Life mark, but had entropy in your deck, your mark would look like the inverted Life mark at the beginning of this thread. The more different elements you have in your deck, the more distorted the mark would become.

Like I said, doubtful, but fun to speculate on ;)

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Standard Text and Hidden Rules
« on: October 06, 2010, 02:17:20 am »
This kind of think happens in all CCGs really. I could give you examples of MTG cards that have ridiculous amounts of errata.
Hehe, first one that comes to mind is "Humility." It was on my MtG judge's test back in the day ;)

I agree, this game, for all it's simplicity, does have some hidden rules and though it would be nice to have readily availiable information on the cards, it won't be realistic. Just like other CCGs, cards will run into other cards that will change how the card works, or will interact with other cards thereby changing the fundamental aspect of that card's playability. Take a look at the recent nightmare/mind gate (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,11309.0.html) thread. It may not totally illustrate a card's individual use/info but it does shed light on the complexity of the game. Also, as more cards are introduced, those cards will have an impact that is, as of this moment, indetermined as to what those new cards will do to other cards.

The simple answer, in my opinion, would be to make sure the Wiki, or somewhere on the site, there is a comprehensive listing of each card and their relelvant information so players, new and old, can use it for reference.

Maybe give more electrum based on score?

Say if someone has 2000 score, their reward would be in a bracket of 500-1000 electrum whereas someone with a 50,000 score would have the the chances to win the current amount of elecrtum. That way newer players would get a boost while not expanding the "rich get richer" aspect. I would suggest something alont the lines of a ladder or decreasing returns the higher one's score is.

Agreed as well :P

Perhaps leave the Level 6 button greyed out until a player completes the quest to.

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Chaos Power =/= Chaos Seed
« on: September 30, 2010, 06:36:42 pm »
I get what you're saying and I can kinda see the benefits for doing that, but in so doing, the change would require 2 new cards to be made- the unupped version of Chaos Power and the upped version of Chaos Seed.

Not sure if that is something that would happen, but it does increase the card base so I'm for it ;)

Given my current score, I'll only PvP in Duels. Last time I tried to play a little in PvP I lost so much score from one loss that it would have taken me about 10 wins to make it up. Since most peeps have the deck they want to PvP with by about 20-30k, it's a complete waste of my time to even try in PvP 1 or 2. So a PvP option for the 50k and up club with slightly lessened restrictions for losses (with slightly lessened rewards for wins perhaps) would be sorta fun for all those that have 50K+ score, or whatever the cut off would be.

Just my opinion ;)

General Discussion / Re: Trainer thought...

That would be a nice link, but I am also thinking of PvP tournaments where you are limited to certain cards. It might be a nice tool to test a deck idea out with by giving the AI similarlily restricted decks to play against.

General Discussion / Trainer thought...
« on: September 27, 2010, 02:46:13 pm »
Would it be possible to have an AI in trainer that one could load up a deck and test against?

In other words, I build a deck, but feel it might be susceptible to a certain style of deck type. So I give the AI a deck to play and play against it in trainer to get a better idea of how mine might work against the one I gave the AI to play.

Is this even possible, and if so, something that peeps might want to see in Trainer?
