Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Airborn weapons
« on: July 15, 2011, 11:20:24 am »
I kinda agree with this. It just makes sense that a two players who can both fly would be able to hit each other - weapons should gain airborne with wings.
The only time this would be useful is when two wings using players fight anyway.
Web destroying wings is cool too but a little bit tough on poor air players.

Deck Help / Re: 4 Eternity's-What should I do?
« on: July 10, 2011, 07:40:46 pm »
Flying eternities are great. 4 eternities, an Anubis, lots of towers and 4 animate weapons.
You can actually kill FGs with a flying eternity deck - you can permanently cycle them through their cards - pretty much making them do nothing.
Add in a 0 cost creature to prevent deck outs and you're set.
I like it in PvP though.

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Stone skin :: AI use
« on: July 10, 2011, 11:02:55 am »
Good suggestion, yet was it worth the effort considering that there are more urgent improvements the AI should have rather than stone skin usage.
Small things are always worth the effort.

Would you mind telling me what score has to do with PvP? Players already level their alts by queueing against their main account in pvp2 (which is mostly abandoned) for massive elec/score, so the abuse already exists. :P
Score determines how much electrum you win at the end of the game.
If your opponent has a much higher score than you, you win more electrum.
The converse is also true.

A newer player beating a "veteran" would gain many times the electrum he would get from beating an FG.
It's a great feeling and a great boost.

What you're describing is currently a transfer of score from one account to the other. (From what I understand)
Implementing flat score loss rates would mean the original account loses no score while the new account gains "free" score.
I actually didn't know people made alternative accounts tbh.

Well since the matchup is random you can't really help your buddy grind or something like that. Even if you do, that doesn't really matter isn't it.
Good point :D

You mean like T50 farm? Thats because the AI is controlling it so you don't really lose time. I doubt that many people will play PvP and purposely lose to random people.

Not T50, but actual PvP. Sometimes its fun to use a joke deck that's full of rares in PvP1. The purpose being that you feel good about it.
You're right about randomly doing it though - it doesnt happen like that - an effort is made to win, but with a purposefully gimped deck.

I don't really care about score, not sure what others feel.
I'm the same way - now you know me :)

You really think high score player will spend time to go on pvp1 with a rarefarm deck and loose again and again just because they will loose a little score ? you serious ? I've better to do when I play elements..

for example in arena you can put a farm and lost nothing.. you saw a lot of farm in arena ? not me.. 0 in fact.
It happens. I do it. Sometimes it's nice to help people. And as I said above, once you're in the game every effort is made to win, it's just that the newbie gets a cool prize for his deserved victory.

PvP1 is an absolute no-go unless I want to be pigeon holed into playing grabbows and a few other cookie cutter decks unless I'm in a generous mood and feel the need to hemorrhage score.

In favour of making PvP more approachable.

Not in favour of flat rates on score gain.
Best times in the game are when you beat someone with a ridiculous score and you get tons of cash for it.

In favour of flat rates on score loss.
There should be a maximum possible lost and it shouldnt be too severe.

Problem:
Not sure about elements but if this was economics this would be abused to hell.
High score players could essentially give low score players free score by losing on purpose with little happening to them.
Some people do lose on purpose to help people out. I do it with rare decks sometimes - it happens.
Since score is gained freely anyway I'm not sure how big a deal it'd be though.

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Rewards for win totals
« on: July 10, 2011, 10:05:48 am »
I wouldn't base it on the score.
Score goes down when you lose.
You lose when you try things for the first time - new decks, new ideas
-> you lose electrum for experimenting
Not a good thing.

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Daily Quests
« on: July 10, 2011, 09:54:54 am »
In favour of daily quests.

I think a battle should be begun immediately when you begin the quest rather than you accepting the quest and versing normal AI.
Not sure but this would probably be easier to code and easier to reward.

If the AI were given a unique creature or ability it might make the quests both interesting and a challenge.
For example if the AI had an immaterial pet with the ability "steal" from the start.
Pets art could all be the same with some colour changes, like the nymphs, to prevent too much trouble with images.

Other examples:
A pet with 100 HP and overdrive from start.
Permanent sundial in play - AI has fahrenheit and/or poison creatures
A pet with ability "lay fate egg" (could be very interesting - or just spawn random dragon)
An immaterial pet with ability " Parallel universe"
A row of 6 mindgates with 0 cost in play from the start
Pet with ability "Firebolt/icebolt/drainlife"

By unique I mean the player could not get these cards.

A final idea would be an "endless mode"
You would fight each FG in sequence (not random) retaining your HP from each round.
Your deck could not be changed.
In the event you defeat all the FGs they would gain additional HP and mark values.
A reward for this might be getting a single card from each FG you defeat.

I cant code. I'm sorry if suggestions are bad because of coding issues.

In favour of buying cards with sparkly or different art.
Same stats, no impact on game but signifies that the person helped the developer out.
Also it would look cool and still probably be rare enough to make someone type something to the player.
(which is the reaction you want from rare cards)

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Stone skin :: AI use
« on: July 10, 2011, 09:19:31 am »

Problem:
AI use it only when they are low HP. They use it to heal only.
They do not use it when they have 75 or more quanta unless they have low HP.

Suggestion:
When earth quanta > 75 AI should automatically use this, regardless of current HP.

Why this is necessary:
I've played arena decks that I knew had this card and yet didn't use them.
I was able to plan ahead and burst down the the AIs HP, while they had multiple of these cards and more than 75 earth quanta.
AI improvement should probably be a priority now with the arena and I think this is something that can be fixed.

Any thoughts or bumps welcome.

General Discussion / Re: Anti-fun PvP "troll" decks - Problem?
« on: May 08, 2011, 01:34:34 am »
My advice is to completely ignore these people. This is, IMO, a long ways away from a "troll" deck. People who can't handle stall would have a large portion of the possible strategies that exist be banned - if you remove stall, you're basically having a fight to see who gets a better rush draw.

The true "troll" decks I've seen are stuff that is designed to take stall to the point of absurdity, wherein they basically don't have a win condition other than deck out. Yours just uses a combo that takes a bit of time to set up and has some sundials to facilitate that setting up. In fact, you have as much stall as would be obtained by using nothing but two dim shields.

TL;DR - you're being trolled by them, not the other way around. Ignore them and enjoy your deck.
please dont stop using this deck I love it it is actually fun to play against.
people just dont like to lose thats all.
Thank you both for your replies - they actually made me feel an awful lot better :)
I guess I just let some of the comments get to me a bit - Its great to feel that not everyone is against me ^^

This isn't an anti-fun deck in the least, compared to others. Observe:
MrSexington's "Rage Quit Deck" (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,3807.0.html)
The Shutdown (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,8420.0.html)
I've heard of these decks but I've never seen them in serious PvP. Thanks for adding them as a counterweight to the above deck.
Many of the people who drop hate on the deck above commented on skyblitz - considering it to be a cheap move.
Is it this in conjunction with the stalling that annoy people?

Thanks for taking the time to comment
