Should there be a "lore" or story behind Elements? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=29109.msg371567#msg371567

I was just sitting here talking to myself like I always do when suddenly I had a thought, is there a "lore" or anything like that for this game? Or will there ever be? I was just wondering because if not I'd like to help write some for you....heh...Does anyone know anything?

Well, there's plenty of people taking EtG and making stories from it(see the 12Realms project and Zblader's Draconic Guardian challenge). But as far as I know, there's no 'official' lore of Elements.

I think a long time ago theere was a competition for writing a story about the origin of the twelve elements. I think it was before I joined though.

So there's no longer any interest in that sort of thing? Who would I ask about that? I'm really good at writing and illustrating fantasy based things. I'd love to help with something like this......

Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Why, yes. I do have a Mindgate necklace. It's how I ninja everyone.

As for the topic on where there "should" be lore, I don't think so, unless it is in the form of story-line quests (but I only think this because I lurv the idea of new quests).

Making a canon lore for elements that doesn't affect the game would be like making an anime for yugioh that doesn't affect the cards. And we all know how that turned out..

I would obviously try to make some sort of connection between the lore and the game, I was just wondering if that I did something like begin writing , who I would ask for permission to do that and then furthermore - I'd want community help from other players on a project like too. The idea of new quests sounds fun! I have a bunch of ideas floating around in my head such as like Elemental quests, score based quests, level based quests, win streak, etc....I'm just trying to figure out now who I'd need to talk to?

My gripe wasn't about unrelated lore, obviously, it was about having an official canon lore.

Furthermore, everyone has those kinds of ideas, so don't expect to actually get anything implemented into the game. If you have the urge to let your creative juices flow out, however:

If you have concrete ideas for things to add into the game:

And always remember that there's a very low chance that your ideas will be worthy of game implementation.

Well, I for one love writing too, and if you wanna write something I'm always happy to help! Even if it never becomes an 'official' lore. Or you could help with the 12 Realms....of course with their permission...

Fan/community created lore- absolutely.
Official... eh, no thanks. I don't know, I just don't like the idea of an 'official' lore for some reason.
